This week we saw a few perfect examples of why liberal coastal elites are so resentful of middle America: It’s because the supposed rubes and rednecks aren’t more resentful of the elites — or, more specifically, the elites’ “success.”
They don’t aspire to be like their self-appointed betters.
Some Americans just don’t need much; they don’t think there’s anything wrong with wanting to have a 1,500-square-foot house, watch football and go to church on Sunday. They don’t want to leave their hometowns to come to Silicon Valley or Washington, DC, or Manhattan. They place great value on community and living near family and carrying out family traditions.

I’ve had much experience with mentally ill people in my life and they almost always lean Leftward....They are almost never happy and make it their life’s mission to share their misery.
The majority of celebrities truly are mentally ill, insecure a-holes who feel the need to rule over others to mask their fear.....There are of course exceptions.
Makes me think of Randy Travis’ great song: “Better Class of Losers”.
New York and Hollywood could fall into the oceans and we would not miss them.
That’s what really ticks them off.
We’re totally debt free in a 2700sf house with a 1000sf woodshop, living in a small town in the Rocky Mountains.
Please explain to me why living in the Bay Area or LA (been there, done that) with those residents would be a better experience. You’ll have to use monosyllabic words; we’re not very smart.

Cliche’s aside, I disagree that people in ‘mid america’ are ‘less ambitious’ it’s just that there ambitions are focused elsewhere than that of the ‘elites.’
What is the slam on ‘mixed martial arts’ about? Was it targeted to a particular person or group or was it just a random thing. I don’t follow pop culture enough to know.
The elites’ shallowness can’t navigate deep feeling and thought, let alone the products of hard work. Not even with million$ or billion$.
It is, very simply, the sin of “pride.” Our Jewish/Christian progenitors identified this many millennia ago. There isn’t really anything new to be said about what people like Meryl Streep are thinking.
Like all sin, Pride is ever-present and takes a thousand different forms, it appeals to our ego, and therefore easily comes to our fallen human nature.
When people ‘hate’ the way the elites do, it is nothing more than a reflection of the absolute loathing they feel for themselves.
Which is why we see time after time the stark difference in the way a conservative ages vs the way a liberal ages.

It also encompasses Islam, veganism, and militant homosexuality. Our way or the highway!

Most of us just tolerated her and couldn't respect her for her conduct. Really, she was just pathetic.

Bottom line... these BS celebrities think we are not sufficiently envious and respectful of them .... period. In fact we only laugh at them.

My thoughts are they think, because they believe us to be less civilized than they are, we revel on the violence.
I personally don’t watch those fights. I think they are too violent. But I don’t think less of people who enjoy them.

the leftist elites are jealous of how happy many Americans would be to just be left alone and allowed to live in their little 1500sqft houses in peace...without Obamacare, anti-Christian and anti_-Jewish propaganda krap coming out of the White House, constant violations of their constitututional rights (including 2d amendment but also 1st, 4th, 5th, 9th, 10th, 12th, etc) and tons of new taxes and regulations
Good question. Sometimes these big city coastal liberals talk of how they have great Thai restaurants, world class museums, farm to table restaurants, allegedly authentic Chinese restaurants, the performing arts, live theater, famous universities, coffee places which are superior to Starbucks for unknown reasons, progressive policies on zoning or public transportation, as reasons why their places are so superior to middle America.
I’m sure there are other reasons which they can conjure up too.
