Sadly, all this was regurgitate at me during a recent lunch with a (I suppose, now former) friend. She expressed the wish that Trump is thrown out quickly. I expressed the wish that he succeed and we get a factory on every corner so my son can get a job. That should have put the conversation into the land of ridiculous and allowed us to move on ... but, nope, it deteriorated from there. Alas, this thinking is not isolated at all.

The answer is simple.
Never try to discuss anything with a liberal!
I have been doing that for over 3 decades.
Wish that I had started that rule 2+ decades before just saying “Not interested in your BS to liberals!”

Don't kid yourself - the Democrats will try to turn the Russian "election hacking" into Watergate, regardless of the flimsy evidence. It is all they have, but they have the media bullhorn as well as some operatives that will still be on the inside causing as much trouble as they can for Trump. Our side can't get complacent - we can celebrate for a day on the 20th, but on the 21st we need to be ready to punch back twice as hard for the next 4 - and hopefully 8 - years. Trump's problem is that he is saddled with the GOP Ladies Club in congress, so the job won't be easy.

My family is from coal country, it’s very depressed, they were worrying about whether Trump will really make things better, and I said the first thing he’s going to do is take the boot off the neck of the coal industry so there is going to be more work. The way they looked at me, they knew that to be true. It was a nice vacation. Best Election Ever.

It's hard to blame them personally for this kind of thinking - up to a point. They are, afterall, submitted to non-stop brainwashing by the media and education establishment from cradle to grave. But at some point you have to think the overwhelming cognitive dissonance would cause them step back and reasess things for themselves. But nope, they don't want the adult responsibility of thinking for themselves. No intellectual honesty, no courage, and in the end they sacrifice every last bit of decency and ethics to avoid contradicting authority. Forever children.
