New James Bond movie scene recommendation

Posted on 01/09/2017 10:38:21 AM PST by Degaston

It seems like Donald Trump has offended some of the brave courageous Intelligence agency workers. Thus its time to see a dialogue like the following shown in a movie on this topic ;)

James: My name is Bond. James Bond. I am 007 and licensed to kill.

BadGuy: I understand that your new Prime Minister has accused the political appointments over you in MI6 of having done shoddy analysis work.

James: My feelings are hurt as I have never had anyone show negativity or threats towards me like this. I am now greatly offended beyond comprehension that the new PM would say negative things about the outgoing PM's underlings of the opposite political party. I cannot handle this kind of criticism and threats. My feelings are terribly hurt and I lack the courage to carry on as this is scary. Thus I shall resign from her Majesty's Secret Service effective immediately. I shall go find a safe space at an American university with all the snowflakes there to cry my heart out.

BadGuy: Goodbye 007.

Such a scene would be good to take place right after a "Prime Minister's Questions in the House of Commons" where we see how the MP's shred the PM to bits and show what a tough brave courageous guy James Bond really is. It's one thing to be chased by an army of sharpshooter bad guys where you have to use your wits and courage to survive and accomplish your mission. But wouldn't it be more than the bravery and courage of a capable intelligence worker could possibly handle for some politician to say anything negative about another political party's politician's oversight of their intelligence agency work or to do any critical analysis on the quality of the agency's work?

The villain can make a comment about his new girlfriend from Thailand and James Bond can make a crack about her penis...

I would expect the only intelligence people angry with Trump are those who put their politics above their work. I don’t see much a problem after the talking heads are replaced.

I suppose they have only touched on that aspect of it in the movie series.

My sense of it is that the field agents don’t write the reports - the analysts do. Somehow the reports get filtered up to the Minister of Defence. Interestingly, Geoffrey Keene’s Minister of Defence character served under Labor (possibly) and Tory Prime Ministers (that silly Thatcher sketch at the end of FYEO).

Anyway, the baddest of the bad guys were rarely the Soviets. They came off as bad in From Russia With Love, but the real villains were SPECTRE. You Only Live Twice - the Americans wrongly thought the bad guys were the Soviets, but again the real villains were SPECTRE.
The Spy Who Loved Me - again the real villain was Stromberg (originally this was SPECTRE), with the Soviets only mildly bad. For Your Eyes Only - I suppose this was the most negative depiction of the Soviets. Octopussy - It was a rogue Russian general who was the bad guy. Living Daylights - the Soviet defector was disinforming British Intelligence.

But it might make for an interesting case - Bond trying to set things straight after one of the desk analysts ground a political axe. I suppose a desk analyst would have to draw upon more than one field agent’s report.
