Trump: Only "Stupid People Or Fools" Want War With Russia
Zero Hedge ^ | 1/7/16 | Tyler Durden

Having been fully briefed on the "intelligence" proving Russians 'hacked' the election - because how else could Hillary Clinton have lost? - president-elect Trump is starting to shift the narrative this morning to expose the establishment's blinkered warmongery for missing the bigger picture that could be possible...

(Trump's tweets, cut n'paste):

Of course, we can hear the spin now - "well this is exactly what a 'puppet of Putin' would say" - as a US president who seeks cooperation and not war must be a commie plant... or worse.

This follows the Intelligence Community's release of a declassified report that concluded Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an influence campaign to help Trump win the White House. As The Hill notes,

You and ETL are going to have a rough 4 (maybe 8 years). Trump isn’t a Russophobe like you

Russophobe? I'm not a Russophobe. One of my best friends growing up had the last name "Russo". Nice Italian kid.

Do you honestly believe that it was an "oversight" on Trump's part to have selected strong and open Putin critics like Pence and Sessions to fill such key positions in his administration, particularly with the issue of US-Russia relations being so prominent?

It's entirely reasonable to write "I never said that" when not only did I not say that but I said exactly the opposite of what you're writing. I don't advocate military hostility. I advocate vigilance and containment and a military build up coordinated with all of our NATO allies.

I am not mind reading Putin. You can ignore what I say, but I know what I'm talking about.

If you believe Putin is Christian, then I suppose you believe he doesn't kill journalists, too. You probably believe Sweden has sent its submarines into Russia's territorial water. Ireland has had its war planes buzzing into Russia's airspace. British war planes are buzzing into Russian airspace. Ukraine is waging an undeclared war with Ukrainian soldiers on Russian territory causing death and destruction in Russia. Ukraine has stacked up a large army on Russia's border poised to intimidate and invade sacred Mother Russia. Ukraine took a large chunk of Russian territory despite a treaty they’d signed to respect Russia’s territory. Lithuania moved nuclear weapons to threaten Kaliningrad. Georgia invaded Russia to support Georgian separatists. Syrians are indiscriminately bombing Russians cities killing Russians in their hospitals and in their markets. Turkish planes are flying over Russian airspace. The USA has its hackers hacking Putin's secret bank accounts and releasing it to the public through Wikileaks. Yeah, Russia is a victim of many aggressive acts.

I think he picked them to solidify his standing with social conservatives. Foreign policy is not a priority for Sessions. Pence pretty much follows the Bush/Cheney/NeoCon line on foreign policy. Trump’s selection of Flynn & Tillerson says more.

You can add Michael Flynn to that list, too. Putinistas cannot be happy when they find out that not all of Trump's men share a blind faith in Putin. Flynn wrote in his book:

"In part, it’s the old nostrum: “The enemy of my enemy is my friend.” Putin has declared the United States (and NATO generally) to be a national security threat to Russia, and “Death to America” is the official chant of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Both the Putinists and the radical Iranian Muslims agree on the identity of their main enemy. Hence, one part of the answer is surely that their alliance is simply the logical outgrowth of their hostility toward America."

And he wrote this:

"“The Russians and Iranians have more in common than a shared enemy. There is also a shared contempt for democracy and an agreement — by all members of the enemy alliance — that dictatorship is a superior way to run a country, an empire, or a caliphate.” Read more at: http://www.nationalreview.com/article/443481/michael-flynn-russia-iran-donald-trump-republicans-divide

So, you agree with OpusatFR who (supposedly) seriously believes that Russia, the ChiComs, North Korea and Iran, aren't allies? Unbelievable. I suppose you feel the same about the various hostile leftist regimes in Latin America that the Russians continue arming and supporting.

The Russian propagandists have nothing on NBCCBSABCCNNPMSNBCFNC. Our government “influenced” media is way beyond the nearest competitor in terms of propaganda.

“For 16 years Putin was an officer in the KGB”

Explain why that means he can’t be a Christian today. The Christian Church is full of people who didn’t used to be Christians.

Never forget. Intelligence communities lied us into the wars, never ending. And who gained the most from duping us, beware of them.

Don’t forget to call me a war monger, too.

You are making the same mistake Trump is. Foreign relations is not just bilateral. Trump cavalierly disregarding the concerns of our allies just to score domestic political points in a news cycle will cause long term damage to the United States.

We all laugh at Obama being sidelined by Russia and Turkey. It won’t be so funny when it’s Germany and China doing the same to President Trump on some important issue. Sadly, that is the road we are heading down if Trump does not change his behavior.

Explain how Putins “true nature” is different from his late boss’s (Gorbachev’s). And how you know

Did Gorby destroy 100 miles of European border, steal his neighbors land at gunpoint and murder 10,000 of them? Putin has been far, far more willing to use mass murder as a foreign policy tool than any late Soviet leader ever was.

Putin’s fought external 2 wars in the last 20 years both to prevent further NATO expansion to their doorstep(Georgia/Ukraine). Both where very limited in scope and in goals.

Russia has only itself to blame for NATO on it’s borders. Russia’s long history of murdering their neighbors and stealing their land naturally caused those countries to seek western alliances. Russia’s recent abuse of their non NATO neighbors has only confirmed they made the correct choice.

Sorry, there is nothing limited about the mass murder of Ukrainians by Putinist Russia. Over 10,000 killed since Russians from Moscow arrived and started their mass murder. I understand as a devoted Putinist you are just fine with all of Putin’s murder. History shows that appeasing mass murderer never ends well. Buy a clue before it’s too late.
