I got a charge out of it.
You should see what happens when a roll of steel sheet gets loose on the highway and starts unrolling...
Would have been better with Yakety Sax playing in the background.
Viral marketing by Dodge?
Okay, who here has turned one of those into a coffee table?
Years ago, something like this happened in GA. The spool fell off of a truck and hit a woman getting the mail out of her mailbox. She died.
DANG!
I was waiting to see Harold Lloyd or Laurel & Hardy running down the street just 10 yards in front of the giant spool.
Yikes! I’ve always imagined something like this whenever I’ve seen such reels on the backs of trucks.
Stuff like this is my nightmare.
Once on I-78 something strapped to a pallet jumped out of the back of a pickup and came down right in front of me. Fortunately, it skittered off to the right and ended up on the shoulder and nobody hit it.
The moron kept going for a while before he realized that something was missing, and the last I saw of him he had pulled onto the shoulder, and was in reverse. He had about a mile to go.
I hope his cargo was destroyed, and it cost him a bundle.
I saw a flatbed truck carrying spools of sheet steel that got stuck on a grade crossing. The train hit one of the spools. It was inertia vs. momentum; inertia won.
Those coils weigh over 40 thousand pounds each.
At least it wasn’t 30,000 lbs of bananas...someone would’ve been killed.
Pull that vehicle over for failure to signal when changing lanes.
