It's a scene straight out of mediaeval times set in modern-day Madrid: an archer dressed in camouflage gear, stationed in a tree at night, waiting for the kill. For five years, the authorities in the region have resorted to this unusual technique to cull wild boars encroaching on towns, relying on 55 volunteer bow hunters to eliminate pigs that take too much of a liking to urban life.

we do pretty much the same thing here at my Airpark.
Cept we either ride around in our golf carts or sit in our tree stands or even on our porches and shoot the sometimes 500 pound grub hunters.
I use a .308 Cetme’ and usually leave em for the buzzards where they lie.
When they are on the runway or taxiway we drag em off to the side.
Sounds pretty red necky but ya just can’t have 400 500 pound boar tearing up runways.
Beer helps.
He has a great job that will get better than in the next 8 years.
When he gets home from work, he runs 4-6 miles. Has dinner with his family and then does his archery practice at his home archery range.
The Lazy Boy time comes after the kids go to bed.
I don’t eat pigs. but I hate those wild pigs. I’ve shot many a wild pig. They are destructive invasive pests.
Well, yes - I know they are.
I live in Texas - we have them on our farm and we shoot the hell out of them.
My comment was about the "machine gun". They were not using automatic weapons.

If you need help on your farm my hubby’s the one to call. He’s a good shot and just loves shooting those little piggies.
I have been bow hunting wild boars for 15 years. They are not particularly hard to kill if you take your time, aim carefully and use a good broadhead..I am partial to slick trick 4 blade broadheads. Flies like a dart and makes a big hole.
