Steve Sarkisian will assume the duties immediately.
In a deviation from the original plan, Lane Kiffin will not call plays for Alabama in the National Championship. Instead, hell head to FAU early and assume his head coaching duties.
The timing of this is fairly interesting. Kiffin was originally slated to stick around. Former Bama assistants Jim Mcelwain and Kirby Smart stuck around for the Tide balancing their new head coaching duties and coordinator responsibilities in Tuscaloosa.
Now the responsibility will fall to former Washington and USC coach Steve Sarkisian. Sark has been an offensive analyst with the Crimson Tide. He didnt exactly impress folks with his playcalling at previous head coaching stops.

I guess you would have hated General Patton too - he was a hard ass who could be a little mean at times. Of course Patton was a winner and nothing is more important than winning. Hopefully, we will not get sick of winning under Trump as well - another take no prisoners personality.
Different situation. Patton in the long run was saving lives. Nobody is living or dying on Saban’s leadership. Also Patton never lost sight of who the enemy was, not something you can say about Saban.
Obviously I am talking about leadership style.
Obviously I’m talking about negative character traits. Saban is an abusive jerk, also a serial liar, and petty.
Bless your heart but that’s just your opinion. I and many others stand by Saban 100%. He has been an absolute blessing for the Alabama football program.
Both teams are lucky OU didn’t make the playoffs.
It’s not an opinion. It’s a fact. Youtube is filled with his screaming rants, and just lookup how he got to Bama to see the lies, and his 11th hour firing of Kiffin shows his pettiness. It’s all there, you can worship the POS if you want, but that doesn’t make him not a POS.
Every asshole has an opinion and that includes you. Roll Tide!
The facts stand, and can be seen by anybody that isn’t blinded by their fandom. Saban is a POS. I could actually respect you if you could admit it. But instead you run to name calling, thus proving that you’ve learned much from your hero, especially how NOT to be a decent human being.
You are the one who is hysterical over a football coach. Your life must be pretty miserable to get all worked up over this.
No hysterics at all. I just pointed out he’s a turkey. All the hysterics have come from Bama fans who can’t handle the idea that maybe their great football coach is a terrible person.
Again. That is your opinion, which is not shared by many in the great CONSERVATIVE State of Alabama and many in the coaching profession.
Again it’s NOT an opinion. He’s got a large quantity of well recorded bad behavior. The screaming, the lying and the pettiness are all recorded FACTS. Lie to yourself if you must, but don’t lie to me.
Your bitter hatred is eating you up ... and it is oozing out all over this thread. Are you an LSU sycophant by chance?
It is obvious you don’t know when to STFU. I could really care less what you think. Of course I am sure you will respond with the same inane drivel you have vomited all over this thread.
Make sure to pump your chest out further when you send your next message Mr. Internet tough guy.
It ain’t bitter and it ain’t hatred. Facts are facts. The only oozing here is coming from the apologists who have to pretend Saban’s never done anything less than honorable. Really, why does it bother you guys so much? You want to worship him as a coach but can’t admit he’s not a good guy even though his behavior is well known. Your behavior is part of a bigger problem we have with sports figures, by constantly pretending bad behavior off the field didn’t happen so long as things keep landing in the W column you encourage this crap. This is how you teach the next generation of athletes they can get away with anything so long as they’re winning. If you could just say “yep I wish Saban weren’t such a jerk” you’d at least take a half step. Instead you attack anybody that points out his behavior, thus encouraging it in him and others.
I know that the more abusive you get the more we both realize I’m right. Obviously you could care less what I think because you keep replying and replying and replying. Not playing tough guy, that’s YOUR shtick, another one you learned from Saban. Scream louder, works great for him.
I will admit that you would make a great Auburn fan. However, we will have to agree to disagree on this one because I am will never tire of winning.
RTR! I look forward to Monday’s game against Clemson.
It’s not about being tired of winning. It’s about acknowledging feet of clay. They exist all over, and Saban’s got 2.
