Fully agree. NEVER apologize to them. Ignoring them is always the best option.
There is a reason “old school” comedians like Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock and Steve Martin will NOT do college gigs - social justice warriors!
These people are nuts and they’re just pi$$ing everyone off.
My Force has awakened.
Villion expressed exactly the same sentiment - sadness at the loss of past beauties - as Steve Martin, and his poem is a classic of Western Civilization.
LOL!!!!!!
It wasn't an easy question to answer. It depends on how ironic he was being in the story and just what he was ironic about (or about how sentimental he was and just what he was sentimentalizing).
Anyway, there are women out there who may bear a grudge and be waiting for something -- anything -- to come along and give them an opportunity to attack.
Not just women either. Some people and some celebs just don't take to one another.
I'm trying to sort this out for no particular reason other than my curiosity about human behavior. This causes many questions.
For example, what is a sexist undertone? Perhaps a better question is who decides what is and isnt a sexist undertone? They would be the ones who would spot it at a glance, whoever they are. I had to re-read the tweet several times before I saw a way someone could detect an undertone. However, I cant be sure Im correct.
A possible interpretation for someone tasked with defining and identifying sexist statements and possible undertones could be that Steve Martins words imply that Carrie Fisher was beautiful and bright instead of bright and beautiful.
That sounds more like a personal problem for them rather a problem for Steve Martin. This is the first time Ive heard such an accusation of Steve Martin. If they had to dig this deep into the content to find something to whine about there surely would have been previous reports.
What are the odds Steve Martin is a democrat who voted for Hillary?
Yep, apology unnecessary and kowtowing. Acknowledged SJW snowflakes, poor choice. His best response was posted previously:
“WELL, EXCUUUUUUUSE ME!”
It's remarkable how when you switch the order of the sentiments, it sounds insulting.
I hear you. Martin has always seemed like a sweet man to me and very funny.
Aren't we about to the point by now when we can start telling people who throw around accusations like "sexist" to go pound sand - does anybody actually take seriously any more the charges of misogynist against Trump from those who defended or ignored Bill Clinton's sexual assaults and didn't care that Hillary was campaigning with Jay Z, whose lyrics read like a porno/racist wetdream?.....
Welcome to the party pal.
That's offensive to the blind.
That’s offensive to the blind.
Ray Charles would grab a woman’s forearm while shaking her hand at initial introductions to see if she was HWP in case he wanted to get more intimate with her at some future time.
Even the blind have ways of “seeing” things that are important to them.
OH! GOOD! LORD!! Can people NOT compliment folks on their looks anymore!? I think what he wrote was very sweet; condemning him for being sexist is extremely NARROW MINDED!
Women's IQ's tend to be clustered around the mean ( fewer women on the low side of IQ - and fewer women on the high side). Steve Martin made the mistake of speaking the truth... which is perceived as 'sexist' in our time.
