The ship has not been commissioned yet. I wonder if Trump can change her name to...I don’t know...perhaps someone who gave his life while serving in the navy.

That’s what I was thinking........I sure hope it can be changed and that Harvey Milk for sure!!

There is often some logic to the naming of US Navy ships, in the case of these LCSs they are all named after medium sized US cities, i.e., Coronodo, Jackson, Montgomery, Omoha, Fort Worth, Milwaukee, Detroit, Little Rock, etc.
Except for one: USS Giffords is named after a Dem politician, from Arizona's 8th district, which includes parts of Phoenix.

The last USS Phoenix (SSN 702) was decommissioned in 1998, so that name is available, or perhaps Peoria near Phoenix would also serve.

At least until the next planned USS Phoenix is commissioned in 2422:
