In the good old Navy, unless things have completely changed, “LCS” would have meant “Landing Craft Supply”.
I could be wrong though, perhaps the younger Navy people can expand on that.
UPDATE on the ships name.
“Littoral combat ship”
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Littoral_combat_ship
The littoral combat ship (LCS) is a class of relatively small surface vessels..........check out Wikipedia.org for the long version
I totally agree! It’s beyond ridiculous.
What, it’s not gonna have any guns?
Or Twinkies?
We need to stop naming ships after narcissists, ..err.. I mean politicians (But I repeat myself!). Go back to states, cities, geographic landmarks etc. I like the UK way of naming, Indomitable, Irresistible, etc. If we still insist on having the gender confused in the Navy, name a ship the Fabulous!
My thoughts exactly; Constitution, Constellation, Yorktown,..or Naval Heroes, Stephen Decatur, John paul Jones, Halsey, etc.
Will it be UN-ARMED? She could have SAVED LIVES, that day if she was ARMED!
I don’t have a touchy-feely sentiment. A warship should denote strength, pride, etc.
A debilitating hit to its port quarter will result in its immediate retirement.
‘Little Coffin Ship’ is the one I’ve heard most.
ARUGULA!! The USS ARUGULA!!!
That’s what I was thinking........I sure hope it can be changed and that Harvey Milk for sure!!
How pathetic that the Navy should name ships after political figures, but military heroes need never apply.
So far the Medal of Honor recipients for the War on Terror include Kyle Carpenter USMC, Jason L. Dunham USMC, Dakota L. Meyer USMC, Michael A. Monsoor Navy, and Michael P. Murphy Navy.

Unless I am mistaken, Michael Murphy does have some type of destroyer named after him!
He’s not much better when it comes to Gun Grabbing. He’s as much of an ass as she is.
RE “...named for one of the shooting victims ...”
Again, that wouldn’t be appropriate either. Naming it for Giffords is purely political. Naming it for a victim would be as well.
Has no bullets on board.
Libtard are bad shots. Too bad.
How about naming it the USS Christopher Scott Kyle ... A Navy SEAL who saved countless American lives, and died trying to help a fellow veteran...
That would be MUCH more appropriate than some democrat political hack.
Someone who actually laid their life on the line.
