Like a good American dad, my holster broke on me today while sliding down the slide at the public park with my daughter...
I wish I had a suitable revolver to trade you for that Hk P30.
You can find holsters like this cheap on eBay. Lots of vintage holsters there.
I have bought a couple for some of my older S&Ws.
I have one that sounds just like what you described except that mine has a thumb break. It was made by Bucheimer and was their "Federal Man" model. It is a Tom Threepersons style holster with the exposed trigger and belt loop on the back. Mine is black leather with a stamped basket weave pattern on it. The vintage holster goes very nicely with my 1949 Smith & Wesson M&P.
That's what I ankle-carried for 24 years. A S&W model 37 (alloy). Never sure I had it with me! Five shotswhere most confrontations are settled with three. (Though I had one confrontation where I wished I had eighteen). Then-Florida State Attorney Robert Rubin probably wished I'd had 18 also, as he later was a victim of the same Home-Invasion Robbery as my neighbor's.
Yep - ditto that!
“Wheel Guns are the Only one to carry
for Self Protection.”
I’ve been evaluating my carry with this new development. I’m not a fan of cross-draw, but I am a fan of making the revolver my vehicular defense device. With a daughter in the back, the controlled pressure expansions and non-ejecting brass make it a better choice near my daughter. Also, the simpler DAO/exposed hammer make the status of the weapons easier to comprehend in a stressful situation. I can re-holster it or rest it on the ground, seat, console or whatever without de-cocking it.
I mean, ideally a sawed off double barrel is the best for vehicular operations, IMO.. but nothing says “I’m a good guy protecting my family, you, your family and all of us” like a classy revolver in a leather holster.
The P30 looks like I’m about to fight aliens. The Revolver looks like a gentleman on the town.
But on a sidenote I’m totally tired of making my gun and carry decisions based on what liberals demand I do so as to not to scare the little sh!ts. I’m tired of them making my decisions for me as to how, when and what I choose to carry.
One other thing I had to do to the Alien Gear holster was to add loctite to the screws. Now they stay put.

The Class of a Revolver !
Every Semi-Auto pistol I’ve had has
Failed to Fire,Stovepiped or
Failed to Eject.
Revolvers have None of those problems.
I jammed my father’s Colt Single action in 44. And it was in beautiful shape too. Now the finish is all scratched.
in my SP101 I use the J frame speed loader, and the process is clunky.
My old M&P Smith in 38 jammed once too, but I banged it on table and it accepted the cylinder. That was a strange issue - ammo was not seated properly. But the Colt Single Action pushrod is half-mooned on the keyed side, and that half moon twisted during the extraction process. Had to go to a gunsmith to get fixed.
