Anaheim police Friday released new video of a suspected vehicle involved in a fiery street-racing crash that authorities say killed two 19-year-old men and inflicted life-threatening injuries on another victim, hoping it would generate new leads in the case.
The new surveillance video shows a tow truck driver near the scene, so investigators are hoping to track down that driver as a witness only, said Anaheim police Sgt. Daron Wyatt. The video shows the other car suspected of taking part in the street racing to be a black Ford Mustang, not red as earlier reported.
The Mustangs driver fled the scene of the crash in the 1700 block of West Ball Road on Dec. 10, but the video shows the suspect returning about a minute later before driving away again, Wyatt said.
The 2 a.m. crash left the victims who died so badly burned that authorities were still working to positively identify them through DNA tests, Wyatt said. One is believed to be a Fullerton resident and the driver may have lived in Stanton, Wyatt said.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Looks like he lost it going through the intersection. Maybe a slight dip and the road?
In the 50’s and 60’s drag racing was very common on Friday and Saturday nights. Actually surprised so many of us survived.
The cars are faster now.

Ours were out in rural areas, plowed fields or low growing tomatoes etc, and could see for miles. Cars did not go near as fast and we were not drugged up.
Go grannies go!
hey, that’s a pretty dumb cold ####ing thing to say :)
Many of us just got lucky doing crazy things when we were young.
But if ever you or yours does something stupid and pay a price, make sure you tell them “play stupid games, win stupid prizes”
BTW, it’s comments like that that make people think all conservatives are ###holes :)
They could have taken innocent lives with their stupid game. Your comment is right on.
Play stupid games win stupid prizes.
I don’t much care what liberals think...
They were going 80 to 100 MPH.
Look like he forgot the part about not driving on the sidewalk.
The dip was behind the wheel.
Right about that, maybe the surroundings not as many obstacles. lol
Thanks. I watched your post.
I was lucky as a youngster, I had a 69 Chrysler New Yorker that could fly. But at the time I lived in Nebraska where we had a lot of long straight roads in the country. There are a lot of long straight roads in the country in California.
We used to watch drag races on Brotherhood Way in San Francisco in the 1960s. A winding boulevard lined by trees and some churches. At the end was a T-intersection at Lake Merced. Once in a while, cops would swarm down on spectators in the dirt parking lot at the T-intersection, and bust people racing. I had a souped up '56 Chevy but didn't take part in the races. Anyway, there was a crash of one car into trees and the young guy died. Then they installed concrete islands and the racing there ended. People then went to Champion Speedway across town to race, much safer in that venue.
