I was always suspicious his almost fatal bout with pneumonia was AIDS related, specifically Pneumocystic pneumonia.

It must have been a sneak attack from behind.
Four years older than me. Careless Whispers was the big break up song back in the day.
Homosexuals that we've know have died of these diseases. Hepatitis, colon cancer, AIDS. A coincidence? I think not.
‘passed away peacefully’
As opposed to kicking and screaming?
RIP.

Keith Richards outlives another one.
Heard the name. Don’t know his music(that I know of ) Stopped listening to new music around 1977.
RIP in Peace, whoever you are.
Probably a heroin overdose.
When I hear pneumonia for a relatively younger gay person, I always think it was most likely AIDS.
You don’t see AIDS listed much anymore as the cause of death. It’s not so politically correct and they want to be nicer to family. They will usually list the cause as some sort of respiratory distress. So more than likely, he died of AIDS but I am not sure.

George’s high note of his career was this song IMO (and “Last Christmas” in Wham). Two of the few modern Christmas songs that comes close to ranking up there with the Andy Williams, Bing Crosby, NKC, Perry Como, etc era of Christmas classics.
"....well I'll take a wild stab at it and say....it wasn't a 73 mini copper s that hit him in his garden while he tended to his roses"
Wow, very sad to hear that. Hope he made peace with God before he died.
