My Elementary school in Southfield, Michigan was named after the then recently departed (1965) US Ambassador to the UN, Adlai E. Stevenson. Our (then very optimistic)school crest was the symbol of the UN, (barf!).
On Halloween, we went from door to door collecting pennies for UNICEF...why? We were brainwashed little kids, what did we know?
So, now, in 2016 they're doing this outrageous act??? This should have been halted DECADES ago!
I’ve still got my UNICEF certificate from 1956 when collecting for that organization meant something.
Today the UN has become one big anti-Semitic and anti-American cesspool because of the communists and the moslems.
There are better charities to donate to if you want to help children overseas. CARE, the International Red Cross, World Vision (if they are still conservative) but NOT OXFAM.
We did the Halloween collection, too. We were instructed to say, “Trick or year for UNICEF.”
