Hey everyone. In what has become a Christmas Eve tradition, of sorts, I would like to wish all of those Freepers who, like myself, have for whatever reason found themselves alone this Christmas Eve.
I hope this thread can, as in previous years, serve as a gathering place for the solo folks who may otherwise have little or no contact with others on this celebrated evening.
You are not alone, really.
God bless us, God bless us everyone.
Amen. He wrote so much down in His book, that He never runs out of anything to talk about, either. He loves the attention, too.. never tires of it. He's engaging and generous, not merely tolerating His fan base just to be polite.
Now if I were emotionally attached to holidays, contemplating what "should" be, I'd think something were seriously missing.
Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah to you and yours. :)
I remember one Christmas....
I had three strikes against me that day..
number one....I had to work Christmas...
number two...I had my monthly "friend"...
and number three....I came onto the floor and saw a woman I knew who's husband was sick....I said "Merry Christmas...how's your husband?"....
" he just died"....
:(
Yes...alone. First time without family or friends.
If you are a believer in Christmas, you obviously believe in Jesus Christ, at least to some extent. I am not here to judge your belief system...I am hear to offer words of comfort and encouragement. There have been many times in my life where I felt alone, depressed and strangled by my circumstances beyond what I could handle. I turned to God, begging for His forgiveness of my sins and help for me and my family. He has always helped us out of horrific failures on our part...never perfect, but saving us as a family. God will do this for you in the same way that He did support our family in times of need, I can assure you...reach out to Him with sincere prayer and He will be there for you!
Has anyone mention you have FRiends here?
That was a WONDERFUL interpretation of one of my favorite Christmas carols. Atmospheric but just enough rock to give it a nice edge. I just added their album “Talking Dreams” to my Prime playlist.
Follow Jesus and never get lost!
Spinster cat lady here. I have family nearby but sometimes the most magical Christmases happen in the quiet stillness. There is some sadness, but will be enjoying good memories and praying— thanking God for President Trump and years of FR giving me joy!....and cleaning up after naughty cats who Redecorate for Christmas!
I detached from holidays because they can do that. :(
In another dimension though, the light is bright and warm and always welcoming and loving and good and 100% trustworthy and comforting.
So I hang out there. :)
Peace and Blessings to you, FRiend.
Not alone but my Father is in Hospice care and I spent the most miserable night with him last night. His breathing was getting terrible and there were two or three times I thought he was gone. He is 93 and obviously going down but to see him like I am seeing him is almost too much to bear. I pray the Lord will take him and spare him any more pain and misery.
God Bless all that are alone tonight and Christmas, have spent my fair share of them like that. Sometimes I often enjoyed the solitude. Take care all.
Oh What Fun It Is To Drive This Rusty Chevolet.
“But I don’t know if He’s listening.”
He hears you before you speak the words.
Merry Christmas :)
At airport waiting for my frau to get home from caring for aging parents back east. Tomorrow it will be us and our newly rescued Catahoula hound. I will do Maryland crab cakes on a bed of spinach, stuffed mushroom caps, fried oysters, and taters. Then start preparing for my 8 week class I am facilitating in the spring on THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR.
Agree. We have a collection of Christmas Carol/Scrooge movies (1931 - 2006) and we enjoy the Muppet version.
Working through the holidays. Merry Christmas all!
hang in there Joan and Merry Christmas to you!
I just drove through northern Louisiana a few days ago on my way to Monticello, Arkansas to pick up a boat.
From this California FReeper may God Bless your
father and you.
My very best wishes to all fellow Free Republic members, lurkers and friends. Gods blessings on all.

In Louisiana myself.
I hope you have a very Merry Christmas, filled with joy and all of God’s blessings.
We’re never truly alone, really.
