The United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit concluded Monday that police officers are justified in killing citizens’ pets — even if those animals are not attacking or attempting to attack them.
Judges MOORE and CLAY (Circuit Judges), and HOOD (District Judge) heard an appeal from the plaintiffs Mark and Cheryl Brown, of Battle Creek, Michigan. The Browns filed a lawsuit against the BATTLE CREEK Police Department, the City of Battle Creek, and officers Jeffrey Case, Christof Klein, and Damon Young for the death of their beloved dogs at the hands of sadistic cops.

The ruling:
They should at lease have to read the dog his rights before shooting him, or maybe in this case it would be his rites.
Make no mistake, there is a large portion of our society that doesn't care to have unity.
They would as soon see us dead.
Animals are not 'executed'. They are killed.

Wow! You did an excellent job compiling all the info located on your homepage!
This ruling means 99 percent of dogs can be legally shot. The dog reacts to people, that’s why we keep them around. In all my many years, it is only in the last decade that police have gone schizophrenic about shooting dogs. This is just another way to desensitize people to the point that women think murdering unborn children is something to be congratulated. People can justify anything when their conscience is seared.
So, does this go both ways? I think laws apply to police also, so we are free to blow away a barking police dog, or our neighbor’s barking basset hound?
I think the same laws of self defense apply to a dog, if you aren’t in danger, you leave them alone.
