I’ve learned that it’s best not to say anything about a terrorist atrocity on social media, especially not if it confirms one’s political prejudices. It just looks crass, or it has when I’ve done it. Try not to say anything profound either, as it will probably look insipid; also ideally do not make any point about similar atrocities occurring in less well known parts of the world, as people will quite reasonably think you’re just scoring points. And best not to bother with the tweets of solidarity, which are superfluous these days surely; France and Belgium and Germany are our close allies, friends and neighbours, and it goes without saying that when one of us is attacked we feel for them.

German social media is apparently filled with anger, not with Islamic extremists or Angela Merkel but with Alternative für Deutschland and its supporters. I’m not sure what the psychological condition is called; I suppose it’s a form of Stockholm Syndrome.

I can understand the human urge to protect the vulnerable, refugees and Muslims generally, from hostility as these awful events repeat themselves. It’s easy to sneer at politicians who come out with vapid theological comments, as I have in the past, but their job is to protect all the country’s citizens. I can also see why this urge might convince an intelligent person that Merkel’s migration policy has actually helped the fight against terrorism. But it’s extremely unlikely; all things being equal, hosting refugees does lead to an increase in terrorism, although the risk is smaller in richer countries, largely because they have better security services....

In fact, Merkel’s policies have some pretty serious implications for Germany in the future.

The Austro-Hungarian Empire is a glittering example of the maxim that diversity is an Achilles' heel. In fact, one could literally say that the empire was Balkanized. In this case and in virtually every other historic example, diversity has not proved a strength but a cause of disintegration.

Apart from soothing the psyches of leftists, diversifying weakens rather than strengthens the nation. Leftists carry a torch for diversity because it permits them to avoid thinking about the shallowness of their political positions. In America it is simply a matter of race, the liberal says to himself, "conservatives are racists and we are not," and all of the failures of the Obama administration are swept away in a phrase.

In Europe, especially in Germany, the example of the Holocaust plays the same role and prompts leaders like Angela Merkel to assume a noble posture, one we might describe as a politically correct gesture, knowing that those who write history will approve.

Angela Merkel is in the process not of shackling Germany to a corpse but turning it into one.

Leftists want their version of diversity because it supports their core goal of distorting national boundaries and uniting the world under one government. Their goal is not so much diversity but an amalgamation into one artificial and universal culture over the whole world.

I quite agree, the reflex in leftists is to do away with national sovereignty and move toward world government.

I like to use the analogy of the Skinner box in which the leftist sees himself as Dr. Skinner modifying the behavior of the chickens within the box by granting and withholding reward. The leftist has an unquenchable lust for power because he believes that his ideas are so good that they should be imposed on everyone, much like chickens in the box. This is why the leftist loves to use the military for their top-down, command social gaming.

I can’t agree with the author, I believe that we’re going to see Germany turning hard right in the very near future - especially now that Obama is not there to prop up Merkel. France is gradually tightening down on Muzzies - Germany probably won’t be gradual.

Since our problem is smaller it is easier to deal with. Under Trump if you are moose limb, not a citizen (or an 0bama citizen, not vetted, etc.), and you spit on the sidewalk then you go back. If the libtards start to complain we are “separating families” start sending the whole family. Anchor deportation.

We will have no problems in no time. Any minor infraction, gone, and everyone you live with or are related to.

Did you read the Steyn article the other day? Why are we putting up bollards around every damn Dunkin Doughnuts but doing nothing at the border? We simply have to change this.
