I don’t use fabric softener. My mom never did either. We both definitely know how to do laundry and are not millenials.

I use it more this time of year and the times I have to use a laundry mat. Static cling is bad in winter and laundry mat dryers really generate it no matter what time of year it is, never knew why.

Same here. Fabric softening is one of those things that is so trivial that it simply doesn’t make sense to add more chemicals to one’s environment to achieve it.

Mom used it. I don’t. It seems like a waste of money for little benefit.

The only time I use fabric softener (sheets) is during the colder months when static electricity is a problem. I shell out for brand name, the store brands don't work (IMHO).

When we lived in Syracuse I always hung my towels & sheets outside spring & never used fabric softener. After a long, dreary winter the fresh, outdoor smell was to die for.

My mom used to visit and always had something to say about it. “For the life of me, I don't understand why you use a clothesline when you have a perfect dryer.” I would always tell her to get back to me when she lives in a place where monthly winter sunshine is measured in hours.

But I digress...... :-0

We use it for some items (T-Shirts and jeans, but not for towels (they dry better when a little on the "scratchy" side).

They always try to over-hype a product to make it "necessary" and when folks don't buy it, it's because they are "ignorant".

I don’t use the stuff either. No sense paying to pour grease and scents into your clothes. The stuff coats your dryer too.

Agree. Been washing my own clothes for 40 years and have never once used Fabric Softener. I used to work for Procter and Gamble. Great company, but a bunch of their products are completely unnecessary
