As you can see from the replies to your post, the average age of Freepers must be over 80. You have some good suggestions. But this crowd hates good suggestions.
I’m sure the current format must turn off many potential contributors to FR — that’s not good. It makes us look like neanderthals.
A LIKE button would be a big improvement. It would cut down on having to read through many useless posts to get a sense of how the community feels about a post.

Yeah, that's right; we're all over 80; we're haters who won't take suggestions; we're neanderthals; our tastes in formatting are a turn-off to anyone young and hip; there's no "Like" button, forcing people to actually form their own opinion instead of following the crowd in short, we're just deplorable. Irredeemable.

Like congregations, if JR wants FR to live on for a long time, he knows he has to also appeal to young people. Lots of people never sit at a desk to go online. I know I don’t and I’m not 25. In order to have a long life for FR, it has to be better working for mobile devices. Once you get a synagogue or church only serving the elderly, it dies. “No kids making noise during services!” Is how a congregation announces it is terminal. Works every time. Service the octogenarians only, you lose any chance of continuing.
