That would be so great! If only. I doubt if it would arrive as an edible product though.

Delicata is a great squash, just keep in mind that it’s not much of a keeper. If you grow a lot of it, you’ll need to can or freeze them before they go soft.

But it is supposed to be a winter squash
How long does it keep ?
Is there a way to extend its winter keeping properties ? waxing ?

You can share that *SMOOCH* with Lady Bender - she works just as hard as you do! And that deer looks like dinner to me! ;)

The ones I used to grow never lasted more than about 6 weeks, although I’m told some people have managed to keep them for longer. The rind is just too thin to be a long keeping squash.

Ellendra :" The rind is just too thin to be a long keeping squash."
Quite true about the thin rind.
After 20 - 25 minutes of steaming , the rind is edible
As I previously stated, I have been unaware of the Delicata squash until this year, even though they call it a 'Winter Squash'.

LOL. Hubby drinks gin and tonic, I drink gin and a breathe
of dry vermouth.

I can’t stand gin and tonic, gin with a couple sprays of dry vermouth is good. I drink the tonic water over ice about 20 oz and that seems to keep the critters away. Now if I can find something to keep the chiggers off my ankles and legs.

You might want to talk to Ellendra about Homeopathics and Essential Oils.
She seems to be our resident herbalist.
