Saw Star Wars: Rogue One at 2 AM this morning. Here are my first impressions of the film (No Spoilers). There's nothing anti-Trump about it as far as I could see, by the way.
Are there any gay amphibians I have to put up with?
I haven’t been a fan of any Star Wars other than the 1977 offering.
That said, I’ve become overly sensitive to “Girl Power” BS in TV and films, where the 100 pound chick can take out a 300 pound killer with one karate chop, but a 100-pound-chick-bad-guy takes 10 minutes of heavy wrestling to subdue. Insert eye roll.
THAT said, I was immediately irritated upon seeing trailers for this film offering; I see it as a continuation of Girl Power nonsense, and several reviews here confirm it. If you’re seeing it because she’s hot and don’t care otherwise, whatever. Insert eye roll. .... :)
“So you think there would be good continuity in terms of the visuals if they stiched it and the 1977 movie together?”
Well, you’d have to take the special effects from the newer “special edition” re-releases and get rid of that “Greedo shoots first” nonsense ... but, overall, the two would join up nicely :-). They did a great job giving all of the human characters that 70s look they had in the original Star Wars ... there are some additional details I could give but I don’t want to ruin anything :-).
Check out season two of Daredevil. In flashbacks, an 80-pound little girl (the kid Elektra) beats up an entire group of adult males and even gets one in a choke hold, snaps his neck, and kills him.

There are amphibians (some strain of the Mon Calamari apparently: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Mon_Calamari ). I have no idea who they sleep with and don’t want to know.
It was filmed almost two years ago. I imagine they did not realize how much they were going to hate him.
And Daisy Ridley from "Force Awakens" did? Personally, I'd take Ms. Jones any day of the week to lead my rebellion!
And Daisy Ridley from “Force Awakens” did?
Nope.
I haven’t seen a Star Wars movie since I had to put up for 90 minutes that floppy eared lisping amphibious irritant!
In all fairness, George Lucas, Walter Murch, Francis Coppola, and Joe Johnston were all on record multiple times stating that the Star Wars Original Trilogy was disguised Vietcong propaganda and anti-War propaganda, so the film being used for politicize stuff is nothing new in this series. If that didn’t stop them from being successes, this won’t either. Not that it’s any better, though.
On the plus side, at least Jyn does require saving this time around, with men being her rescuers as well. A step up from Rey at least.
Was there a credit scene?
If you mean there was a break in the credits and another shot added, then no. Didn’t see any while I watched. But that Vader scene—that is what Vader was supposed to be like and was never shown as previously. Just a bad mother.
Good! I was hoping I did not miss a scene. I wish they could have done a better job with a body match for Vader. While the voice over was impressive, his skinny legs detracted from the effect.
“It was filmed almost two years ago.”
Reshoots were done just his past summer. But your point about Trump is valid.
Jones looked a lot like Leia in ROTJ, actually.
