Should I be concerned?

Of course. You are probably surprised that the private school you send your daughter to is little better than the public schools. Your mistake. They are all part of the same system, just with different levels of propaganda and angles of attack. You will never be able to keep this crap away from your daughter so you better help her open her eyes to see what is being thrown at her and help her build her defenses.

You and your interactions and discussions with her at home are her best defenses at this age. Teach her that the world is full of liars and thieves and con men and that many of them are politicians, news readers and TEACHERS. Don't try to protect her childhood innocence. She needs to be able to protect herself when you are not there to do it. Like when she is sitting in a classroom.

If she doesn't learn this soon they will take her mind into their world and she may never find her way back out. Go to it dad, you're the one to open her eyes to the reality of this world. Help her build herself into a strong, perceptive, free thinking woman. We will be needing her in the future to help our cause. Freedom.

Yes, that is my wife’s take. That trying to shield her from liberal thought is impossible. My wife asked if I would still love my daughter if she became liberal. Of course I would! I would just be mad at myself for not doing my best to inoculate her. You give good advice on that. She does socials every Monday, so on Monday nights I am thinking I grab the copied textbook material, review it, and then make some critiques. The wife thinks I want my daughter to think like me, so I do want to avoid that.

It comes down to values vs. the ability to reason. I think most liberalism is due to absorbing shallow “fact” and trying to simplify complex events. My wife thinks it is more about VALUES. That liberals and conservative value different things.

My mistake was thinking the propaganda would start in senior high school. Seems strange that we are talking to kids in Grade 6 about Castro’s cuba, US elections, and the effort to clear Mosul of terrorists. So what I am up against is these very very complex issues. It would take pages and pages of information and explanation to explain these, but they are reduced to 2 pages in this textbook.
