He could be roosting with the blue-footed boobies.

He’ll pop up in three days.

THE CHEERS
“Black Denim Trousers”
(Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller)

He wore black denim trousers and motorcycle boots
And a black leather jacket with an eagle on the back
He had a hopped-up ‘cycle that took off like a gun
That fool was the terror of Highway 101

Well, he never washed his face and he never combed his hair
He had axle grease embedded underneath his fingernails
On the muscle of his arm was a red tattoo
A picture of a heart saying “Mother, I love you”

He had a pretty girlfriend by the name of Mary Lou
But he treated her just like he treated all the rest
And everybody pitied her ‘cause everybody knew
He loved that doggone motorcycle best

He wore black denim trousers and motorcycle boots
And a black leather jacket with an eagle on the back
He had a hopped-up ‘cycle that took off like a gun
That fool was the terror of Highway 101

Mary Lou, poor girl, she pleaded and she begged him not to leave
She said “I’ve got a feeling if you ride tonight I’ll grieve”
But her tears were shed in vain and her every word was lost
In the rumble of his engine and the smoke from his exhaust

Then he took off like the Devil and there was fire in his eyes
He said “I’ll go a thousand miles before the sun can rise”
But he hit a screamin’ diesel that was California-bound
And when they cleared the wreckage, all they found

Was his black denim trousers and motorcycle boots
And a black leather jacket with an eagle on the back
But they couldn’t find the ‘cycle that took off like a gun
And they never found the terror of Highway 101

I’ve been a biker for forty years. To me, it means taking my time, enjoying the ride, and watching the other guy. That’s why I’m still here, and so is my Dyna Lo Rider.

We have all watched these a-holes fly down the road dodging in and out of traffic. I guess this guys days of driving a motorcycle like an idiot are over.

And for that reason, I am having trouble garnering sympathy for him.

It always toques me when drivers are always chastised to *Watch out for motorcycles*.

How about THEY learn to ride more responsibly as well?

Talk about bad luck...

First, his wings melted.

Then, three beautiful naked women showed up.

AFTER he died!

All the people I know who have the "Watch out for motorcycles" stickers or yard signs are the laid back biker types. The ones who just cruise and enjoy life on their huge road bikes.

This guy was not one of them.

I tend to agree with you. Most of the guys around here referred to as bikers are usually just tolling down the road, maybe a bit over the speed limit but not much, and basically driving sane, nothing to worry about. THe crotch rocket guys...complete fools.

I saw a biker (definitely a Harley guy) with a bright orange T shirt a couple of years ago in north Louisiana, with the caption on the back:

“Can you see me now asshole?”

I had to laugh...

Anyway I’ve seen a lot of fools on “crotch rockets”, in fact I don’t think I’ve ever seen one who did drive sane. Usually they have the thing wound up as fast as it can go, driving like fools and complain about car drivers who don’t watch for them...when you’re running that fast the car drivers don’t have time to see you coming. Just this week one came zooming down a city street running at least 60 in a 35mph zone.

I saw one last summer coming home from a gig, doing at least 120, a car behind him running just as fast a few seconds later. Came around the curve going into town and found out the car was an unmarked cop chasing him, had him pulled over in the Subway parking lot, ticket book in hand...I’m not sure if it’s a good thing he didn’t kill himself that night or not...I hate to see it happen but when it does, all I can say is one less fool for the rest of us to worry about crashing into us.

...the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed when the accident occurred...

Sounds more like suicide than an accident.

Coast Guard searching for motorcyclist who flew off Causeway

Shouldn't that be a job for the Air Force or Air National Guard?

He was black? Well, then it was everyone else’s fault.
