"Daddy Bush, however, let them dictate his agenda, which is why some unknown peanut farmer from Georgia was able to beat him so easily."

Wait...what?

There is enough of the US electorate which isn’t bound to one party that neither party is incapable of blowing their mandate. Remember the 2010 midterms.

Reagan dealt with this crap by ignoring the bleating, and Dubya did as well to some extent. Daddy Bush, however, let them dictate his agenda, which is why some unknown peanut farmer from Georgia was able to beat him so easily.

President Peanut farmer only served ONE term...and Reagan came in to re-establish the rule of law. So much for "automatic" re-elections.

Daddy Bush was beaten by the grifter from Arkansas, the peanut farmer beat Gerald Ford and was beaten by Reagan/Bush

These liberals are having more wet dreams in these few days after the election than did Rip Van Wrinkle in 100 years.

Some people are under the misapprehension that "isms" are on our ballot and we chose between them when we vote.

It doesn't work that way. You could say that voters rejected liberals. You could even say that they didn't like Obama's or Clinton's liberalism. The do seem to be in a conservative mood right now and willing to give conservatives a chance.

But it would be harder to say that they repudiated something called liberalism going all the way back to the New Deal or so. Voters didn't sign on to some conservative manifesto or take out membership cards. In any case there's a reason it's called the "electoral cycle" and what voters will be thinking four or eight years down the road is anybody's guess.

Their e-mails got hacked letting voters see what they really say and think.

The MSM will be on full attack propaganda mode the whole time. The homeless stories will run on the news every night until the next election.

SOME writers "liberals" have so confounded society with government, as to leave little or no distinction between them; whereas they are not only different, but have different origins. Society is produced by our wants, and government by our wickedness; the former promotes our happiness POSITIVELY by uniting our affections, the latter NEGATIVELY by restraining our vices. The one encourages intercourse, the other creates distinctions. The first is a patron, the last a punisher.

Society in every state is a blessing, but Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil - Thomas Paine, Common Sense (1776)

”Liberals” preach cynicism about society, and naïveté about government. Journalists, who consider their own negativity toward society “objective,” fit in perfectly with “liberal” politicians.

Sorry, brain fart. Daddy Bush was still a useless tool of the MSM, when all is said and done, whether he lost to an Arkansas grifter or a Georgian grafter.

“Liberalism is now at its lowest ebb since the 1920s. But I guess there is no cause for alarm ...”

Liberalism never dies. You can say it’s at its lowest ebb since the ‘20’s, but on college campuses it’s not only alive and well, but has apparently devolved into some dangerous pansyfascist mental disease that’s sure to manifest itself in generations to come. It also infects the vast majority of the media, which continues to try and brainwash Americans by trashing Trump at every possible opportunity. It’s a poison, and I don’t know what the cure is. My personal fantasy is that we give them California, and the majority of butt-hurt leftist snowflakes move there. Then we sit back and watch them turn into North Korea (without the nukes) within six months, since none of them know how to actually do anything productive with their worthless lives.

It was a rejection of the current DNC brand of liberalism. If Hillary was a traditional FDR style liberal - who knows - maybe she would be president? *shudder*
