A survey launched by Italys Ministry for Education to promote reading and discover which books are most beloved by schoolchildren has proved the enduring popularity of classic tales. But in ten schools, an unwelcome entry made the top ten.
Several secondary schools included Mein Kampf, the manifesto of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler, in their top ten lists.
Partly autobiographical, Mein Kampf which means My Struggle outlines Hitlers ideology that formed the basis for Nazism. Written in 1924, it details his anti-Semitism which led to the Holocaust in which about six million Jews were murdered at the hands of Nazi Germany.
Alessandro Fusacchia, from the Italian Ministry for Education, referred to the choice as a particularly nasty case, adding that the book was ineligible for the vote in any case as secondary school pupils had been asked to select books by Italian authors published after 2000.

Bull. Crap.
This is backlash from the left after Italy voted against globalism and the Islamic invasion.
If you oppose having your wife and daughter raped, you’re a Nazi.
ban dreams from my father
Were some of these the kids of migrants perhaps?
I think people should know what’s in mein kampf, to be able to recognize the ideology when they see it in other venues, other formats.
Meh, it’s basically a history book at this point. At least they’re reading and learning.
You mean like the Koran’s a history book?
Muslims aren’t history; World War II is.
Muslims practice Islamonazism. Nearly every Islamic country practices Islamic national socialism. The book with which this thread is concerned is quite popular in that part of the world. Never underestimate the power that a book of evil holds, whether the Koran or MK.
And since Europe still was quite anti-Israel even before the recent en-masse influx of Muslims, the context that young minds would see this book in cannot be presumed to be mere history; even worse now with the large Muslim presence.
Thanks Olog. It’s actually very poorly written. A great deal like the Koran that way.... Sort of an unabashed literary mess. To be fair, so is THE SATANIC VERSES.
I am NOT APOLOGIZING FOR HITLER, but . . . very, very few Americans are aware of the conditions in Germany immediately following WWI.
Germany had lost 2 million soldiers and its ally Austria-Hungary (Hitler’s homeland) 1.5 million. Millions of civilians had also lost their lives, their homes, their livlihoods etc.
Marxists were taking over the government. Many German cities were already run as “Soviets.” The socialists had managed to destroy the currency and trigger hyperinflation.
People were starving, and had been for years, in part due to Churchill’s food blockade which lasted for months even following the Armistice.
The economy was in ruins.
There was no TV or radio, and most of the press was socialist (like now). The only way for political dissent to occur was in large public rallies, and Marxist thugs would beat up people and break them up until Hitler organized some of his fellow veterans to kick the commies’ asses. (These veterans evolved into the SA.)
Of course, Hitler had a messiah complex and was also totally absorbed by the hatred of Jews which he linked to a flawed theory of eugenics (also prevalent in the US and UK at the time) and a “Survival of the fittest” between races. He mistakenly equated Jews with Bolsheviks, another theory that was prevalent at the time. His racial theories and doubtless his madness caused him to attempt to wipe out both the Slavs of Russia and the Jews.
I am NOT APOLOGIZING FOR HITLER. The genocide was TOTALLY ON HIM (as opposed to other Nazis etc.), and was one of history’s greatest crimes. But I think it is a mistake to oversimplify the man, his political philosophy and the nature of the War that never really ended in 1918.
I will say that if not for Hitler in the 1920s, Germany might have fallen to the Soviet Union.
Still repeating the 6 million Jews killed claim.
No one knows the actual number, but since the Berlin Wall came down and opening up of soviet records, a more accurate estimate is less than 2 million.
“Partly autobiographical, Mein Kampf which means My Struggle outlines Hitlers ideology that formed the basis for Nazism”
Mostly plagiarized and Germanized from the koran, the hadiths and sunnahs (which chronicle the life and sayings of Mohammed): these are Talibari, Muslim, Isaq and Bukhari; Hadiths are Muhammad’s word to his followers; The Sunnahs are the history of Muhammad and his motto (sic) was “Kill, kill, kill”.
I never understood the point of suppressing it in countries that were quite comfortable encouraging people to read Marx and Mao.
Doesn't "jihad" also mean "struggle"?
It does.
Did you get lost on the way to a different forum?
Are those books considered “history” when read in those countries?
I do agree that inevitably Germany would have fallen to either the Nazis or the Communists.
