On Campus, Trump Fans Say They Need Safe Spaces
ANN ARBOR, Mich. Amanda Delekta, a sophomore at the University of Michigan and political director of the College Republicans, was ecstatic when her candidate, Donald J. Trump, won the presidential election.
But her mood of celebration quickly faded when students held an evening vigil on campus to mourn the results and her biology teacher suspended class on the assumption, Ms. Delekta said, that students would be too upset to focus.

I remember when I was going to college around `79 to `83 I had Reagan stickers on my car and nobody said anything. Today though, my car would probably be trashed. It's so freakin' left today it's insane. I think what happened is back in the 70s and early 80s the WW2/Korean war era professors starting retiring and were replaced by the hippie radicals of the 1960s who indoctrinated the kids and those kids became professors and it's been a vicious cycle ever since. Its probably also why we got these leftist lunatics in politics and the media as well

Here’s a stark example of college in my father’s age and today.
My father walked into a Monday morning class late clad in od green some Monday in fall. He had a high powered rifle over his shoulder, came into a full auditorium size classroom, took the bolt out, put the rifle in the corner and sat quietly down in the back.
Not one eye turned to him until the teacher, one of those WW2 vets you mentioned, asked him if he had gotten anything.
Imagine that scenario today......

the WW2/Korean war era professors starting retiring and were replaced by the hippie radicals of the 1960sMy late father - who taught and coached for 40 years - often said that when the last of the WWII and Korean War vets retired, the public schools would go to hell. Some of the younger faculty would get upset with him for saying it at the time, but after dad and the other old heads retired, most of those younger ones told him privately that he was right.

"Joon Kim, 21, a member of the College Democrats at the University of Michigan, at his home in Ann Arbor, Mich. Mr. Kim said he felt not only disappointed but worried for his well-being since the election. Immediately after that election, I think what I really needed to do was just cry. Good. Cry goofy baboon. Trump won. Get over it.

Wow, I tell you, that’s exactly what happened, one picture that stands out in my head clear as a bell is I remember having this English lit class around 1980 and our Professor - Dougherty, I believe his name was, would come in every day with a suit and tie and he would read these incredible poems, just real fantastic stuff and one day without saying a word, he just retired. He never told us beforehand, maybe it was an emergency, but we got a new Professor - who came in into class - I swear on my mother - wearing sandals and a tie dye shirt and a beard and right away he started in on Nixon and Reagan and that was it for me. I dropped the class THE same day. So to me, it’s doesn’t get any clearer than that. I am assuming that is what happened in all the other classes as well through the years whereas now this garbage is still going on. Thank you 1960s for creating generations of imbeciles.

I get what they're going for, but conservatives -- particularly Trump supporters -- are not weenies who soil their diapers at the sight of opposition. They do NOT need "safe spaces." In fact, they welcome danger, because they know they can beat it.
It's the pajama-boy Left that needs therapy puppies and unicorn coloring books whenever they hear a discouraging word.

One of my teachers was a man who had been a crewman on B-25 Mitchells in the Mediterranean Theatre and had some scars as souvenirs. A tough guy in every positive sense of the term, he - like most of the combat vets who were teachers and administrators - didn't scare worth a damn, and his classroom ran like a fine watch. What I didn't appreciate at the time was the many good tips on life he would dispense along with teaching the subject at hand. He had "been there, done that," and knew that some of us knuckleheads needed all the help we could get.
In contrast, most of the younger teachers didn't have much life experience apart from being in the education establishment.

Problem easily solved...return education to the States and local communities, which is to say closer to the taxpayers. The local taxpayers won’t stand for the craziness. They also won’t pay for worthless degrees.
