Robot-run Henn na Hotel in Nagasaki enters Guinness book
The Henn na Hotel in Sasebo, Nagasaki Prefecture, has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the first robot-staffed hotel in the world, according to the chief of the Huis Ten Bosch theme park.
Our hotel will keep on moving with the evolution of robots and artificial intelligence, aiming to entertain our guests better and make them happy, Hideo Sawada, president of the theme park owned by travel agency H.I.S. Co., said Thursday at a news conference in Tokyo.
We want to boost the number of this kind of hotel to 100 over three to five years, including those abroad and under franchise, said Sawada, who doubles as H.I.S. chairman.
Henn na Hotel, which means strange hotel in Japanese, opened in July 2015. It has 144 rooms and 186 robots, including some tasked as multilingual receptionists and porters.
The cumulative number of guests at the hotel stood at some 78,000 as of the end of October.

Full automation is the future. Low skill jobs will be automated. They already have me trained at Walmart and HD to use the self-serv checkout. Resistance is futile.
I refuse to use the self checkout at Walmart and notice most customers prefer not to as well. Tried it twice elsewhere and each time had to have a real person fix a problem with it. No thanks.
The video didn’t show any robots cleaning the bathroom or changing the sheets. I want hospital corners on the bed and no hairs in the sink. Though the video did show some creepy little room robot that probably live streams EVERYTHING going on in the room. Snort, as if Mr. Smith wants to leave a facial recognition door key for Mrs. Smith’s lawyers to subpoena.

yeah, right. but for some reason they never talk about those horrific “accidents” that keep happening ...
I had an issue or two the first time I used a self-serve at HD. Once you know how to do it it is a piece of cake. My first choice at Walmart and HD is self-serve. Faster and less attitude.
The Yotel in NY already has that robo-luggage room. No robots, but one could handle everything there through kiosks.
Soon to come, vending machines with female pleasure bots to make guests extremely happy.
yeah, i've always been leery of fem pleaure bots since this:
Japan is whacky in regards to sexual stuff. All manner of sex toys and dolls in use there. I recall reading someone asking someone what difference is there in using a small sex toy versus a sex doll. Reply was 120 pounds. I think there is a lot more difference than weight when it comes to fembots. Besides the hidden pyrotechnics in your pic, there's the worry about out-of-control squeezing (I won't be explicit).
