Pakistan is getting a new infantry rifle. In late November at the IDEAS-2016 Expo in Karachi, Pakistans state-run arsenal Pakistan Ordnance Factories signed a letter of understanding with the Czech small arms manufacturer Česká Zbrojovka. This suggests that Pakistan and C.Z. are about to begin negotiations for Pakistan to adopt, and eventually begin license-production of, C.Z.s 806 BREN 2 rifle.

BREN 2 looks like a SCAR-17ski
Nice looking weapon.
CZ makes great firearms. I used to have several.
You can get a similar semi-auto version in the US. CZ 805.
I fired a Type 54. Gazinga!
Gen. Raheel Sharif has an unfortunate resemblance to Saddam Hussein (to me, at least).
But, WHO is paying for these arms? Fork it over US taxpayers!
Excellent weapon, but they chose the wrong caliber.
Paying for them? They’ll just sell us some extra white powder.
Maybe I misread but I thought they were looking at both 5.56 and 7.62X51? I have a SCAR 17S myself that I LOVE!
5.45 x 39 is more suited to what they will be doing with it in the near future. 7.62 x 51 is a fine distance cartridge; the 5.45 x 39 is a great CQB AND distance caliber. Beyond 300 meters, mortar and artillery will be employed.
There should be a total arms embargo on Pakistan. Not so much as a pistol.
How effed up is islam?
An Islamic country of over 150 million, can’t built a quality firearm in 2016.
Indeed!
(Hoping President Trump will deal with Pakistan's grip on OUR purse strings in his first 100 days!)
