I’m not thrilled with his equivocating on the Israel - Palestinian issue, but everything else I have heard has sounded stellar. I certainly think he sounds like the right guy to rebuild our military and to restore its credibility as a deterrent.

General Mattis will be the second tern of Secretary of Defense for George Marshall. Mattis will model his actions on the last General to hold the position.
Mattis is honest, intelligent, extremely hard working and, most importantly, he LISTENS. He believes; if you want to know something, ask the man who is doing it every day. Mattis knew that “Ground Truth” was best gleaned from the Sergeant leading the Infantry Squad in the fight!
This man will be a constant presence in forward deployed commands and he does not suffer fools. You can’t impress this man with a slick power-point brief. He would rather see than hear.
What a breath of fresh air! I’d sure love to be back on active duty!
