It is my position that Mattis is known to be anti-Israel. In fact, his position on Israel is identical to that of John Kerry.
If Mattis does make it through Senate confirmation, I hope that he will confine himself to running the Defense Department and not get involved in the Middle East. But the nomination is still a slap in the face to all of Trump's pro-Israel supporters.

Methinks your “Mattis is Kerry-like” is more than a little bit of hyperbole.
