No. The plaid shirt and western style jeans were always okay. Check old episodes of teh Rockford Files. Jim Garnner usually does okay, even the hair.

Wrong, wrong. We had REAL men then, especially compared to now. Clothes do not necessarily make the man. At least back then guys didn’t have a limp wrist or walk down the street holding hands with another man.
