Texas Republican Elector to resign instead of voting for President-elect Donald Trump
A Republican member of the Electoral College from Texas says hes resigning so he wont cast one of the states 38 electoral votes for Donald Trump.
Art Sisneros previously told The Associated Press that he was wavering on supporting Trump because the Republican is not biblically qualified for office.
In a lengthy weekend blog post, Sisneros updated that, saying the best option I see at this time is to resign my position as an elector.

The Biblical qualifications for the Presidency are all spelled out in chapter 17 of the Gospel according to St. Mark.
Ping.
It’s not a “First Amendment” issue.
This guy is making the case for getting rid of the Electoral College
better than all of George Soros’ millions ever could.

If there was no EC what would you replace it with? Popular
vote and then we would have been saying Madam President.
I seem to recall reading way back in August some Republican elector (possibly in Texas) who made headlines about how he would never vote for Trump. I wonder if it was this guy?
Must be one of those Beck cultists.
Well, bless his heart. We did not elect a pope. Some people should just be quiet.
So he has an alternate, right?
By the way, this holier than thou elector took a pledge, did he not?
They prolly have filth on him and his holy roller persona would be crushed. He may be threatened to be outed or something.
adult child afraid of being taking a real stand, or doing his job. pathetically looking for his fifteen minutes of fame...at least he had the good sense to resign, and let a real adult take over and do the right thing
I have scriptural proof that says I am biblically required that I be President of the United States. If America does not put me in the White House, God will destroy America in three days.
Did I read good?
Made me look . . .
I see what you did there.
Nutty.
We respect Mr. Sisneros decision and appreciate his willingness to step down from his
position as a Presidential Elector in Texas, said Tom Mechler, chair of the Republican Party
of Texas. The responsibility of selecting his replacement now falls into the hands of the other
Electors from Texas when they assemble on December 19th, and we will continue to move forward
with the process.
In Texas, one of the first orders of business will be to propose a replacement for Sisneros
and approve that replacement.
Once that person is approved and sworn in, electors will proceed to cast their ballots, said
Alicia Pierce, a spokeswoman for the Texas Secretary of States Office.

Then pursue this maggot legally...
Well to be fair...he couldn’t in his conscience vote for Trump so he couldn’t live up to the affidavit he had to sign...so he resigned and another can take his place. It’s better than if he had gone in and voted “Donald Duck” and we lost that particular EC vote (not the entire vote...just that one vote)! There is some point of honor in this despite all the bluster Freepers are casting his way!
Could this ‘not biblical enough’ person be Glenn Beck???
So holding someone to a biblical standard does smack of a religious test?
What violation to the constitution (where requirements for the position are laid out) make him unqualified?
This guy is an idiot.
Stein is setting up herself and others for big legal problems.
