It really did fly by. It kinda sucked that Keith and I were both sick. He had a cold most of last week, and then I got it on Thanksgiving night, so that blew pretty much my whole 4-day weekend. I haven’t had a cold in a long time—can’t remember when—and they’re a bummer.

Yes, we’ve taken Zicam and Airborne, plus cold medicine for the symptoms. That should help shorten the duration and severity of mine. Keith’s was pretty bad, and it hung on for longer than normal, I think. He still has congestion, but I’m feeling better than earlier.

Oh, my Lord. I bet my blood sugar is about 500. I'm not checking it again until next week. It took until the next day to clean up and finish getting everything in containers and putting it in the big freezer in the garage. Just got the harvest garlands, lights, and whatnot put away, and dug out all of the Christmas stuff. Got three trees to put up and all the outdoor lights, window candles, and mantle garlands. I'm going to need a week of sleep after all of this is over. Not to mention the Christmas party and a five day round trip to Maryland.
Now I know why my mother just puts out a tabletop tree and a few candles in the windows. I'm 53 and getting a little long in the tooth for all this.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that once we get to Maryland, we have to turn around and drive up to Pittsburgh to see my sister and brother-in-law's 'mansion'. They live in some tony, pinky-extended-when-sipping-wine township nearby. And they want us to stay overnight so they can take us to
Hofbrauhaus (check it out - my kind of place!) for dinner and craft beer. Then we have to come back Christmas Eve and go see my niece Mia's new horse. It's her favorite horse at the riding stable she takes lessons at, and when she found out the owner had gifted her to the equestrian center and they were going to send her to a farm in Virginia horse country, she begged my mother to buy her (Daddy - Uncle Scrooge - said no). Which she did, put it in my sister's name, and gave it to my niece. Ever price the monthly upkeep for a horse? Stable fees, food and water, vet care, all the accoutrements? Out of my price range. Now we have a damn Arabian mare in the family. I mean, jeez..........

Have not herd of Hofbrauhaus, looks fun. They say horses are expensive.
You're really busy...I don't like to be moving all the time.

You’re doing a great deal more than we are! That’s for sure! We have our outside lights in front and back but no tree yet. We’ll just get one “live” cut tree for the living room picture window. Our thanksgiving dinner was ribeyes and fried potatoes—true story. :-)
