TENEBROUS [TEN uh brus]

A tenebrous place is dark and gloomy. Tenebrae is a Latin noun (plural in form, singular in meaning) that means "darkness," from which several Latin adjectives, including tenebrosus, were formed, all meaning "dark, gloomy."
Tenebrae is te name given to a Catholic church ritual sung on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of Holy Week, commemorating the Crucifixion. It is accompanied by the gradual extinguishing of candles, leaving the church in darkness.
A landscape can be tenebrous; so can the interior of one of those Charles Addams (cartoonist, born 1912) houses.
Murder mystery films often use tenebrous rooms and hallways for atmospere.
The Roman poet Catullus (c.87-c 54b.c.) wrote of the iter tenebricosum (dark and gloomy road) whence, they say, no one returns, beating Hamlet's "bourn" whence "no traveller returns" by more than 16 centuries.
A playful, though morbidly applied, word describing the road we sought to escape by electing a bright, shiny puzzle of a man. Let us pray he does not lead us into tenebrous trouble but shines a light into the gloom bringing warmth and joy.
Now we move out of the tenebrous shadows of the globalist and muslim dominated world, toward the still dimly perceived light!!
