He added that for the cards to be misused, they would have to fall into the hands of someone with “malicious intent” and a physical resemblance to the card’s intended recipient.

“”they would have to fall into the hands of someone with “malicious intent””

And boy! - without INTENT, we’re not going to get excited - malicious or otherwise.

Again with the IG! Why can’t we just do away with all the IG’s? We’re tired of all of them. They’re not worth the salaries or benefits they receive to sit around and MONITOR what’s going on - like bank robberies or termite problems. Get rid of them all and save the $$$.

Will never forget obozo firing IG Gerald Walpin in Sacramento soon after coming into office in 2009. Very interesting reading and so early on with no democrat opposition to the firing. This guy did his job and got fired for it. The others just kowtow to the politicians and keep their jobs.

“”President Obama swept to office on the promise of a new kind of politics, but then how do you explain last week’s dismissal of federal Inspector General Gerald Walpin for the crime of trying to protect taxpayer dollars? This is a case that smells of political favoritism and Chicago rules.””

I had no idea about this - this is sad. I was curious about what he’s been doing since 2009. So sad to think one can reach that age, walk to/from his doctor’s office and then have that happen. That makes me sad!

“”Gerald Walpin, a former inspector general for the Corporation for National and Community Service whose 2009 firing by President Obama was harshly criticized by Republicans, died on Friday after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street in Manhattan. He was 84.””
