And still coming down.
It started Saturday evening with rain and changed over during the night.
The first few inches melted pretty quickly.
We’re up to three feet in our location and it’s still coming down although the lake effect band is weakening.
Lots of school closings and delays. A state of emergency for Cayuga County.
And to think that Saturday I was in shorts and a t-shirt doing yard work getting ready for it.
Welcome to NY. If you don’t like the weather, wait a minute.

Three years in Liverpool was enough!! It might freeze tonight here in Arizona, but then again not. ;-)

“Over the river, and through the woods, to Grandfather’s house we go, the horse knows the way to carry the sleigh
through the white and drifted snow.
“Over the river, and through the wood, to Grandfather’s house away! We would not stop for doll or top, for ‘tis Thanksgiving Day.”
Yeah, a real old-fashioned Thanksgiving day. Snow and all, with roads impossible to navigate other than by sleigh.

Didn’t you have a pre-Thanksgiving storm like this twenty years ago?
Daughter was a freshman that year.

We say the same thing in Michigan abut the weather. Hang in there. We had 70 degrees on Thursday and then it got cold and snow. We only had a couple of inches but it’s still on the ground and still cold all week. you will have a memorable Thanksgiving for sure.

Do you know if it will stop today? My parents have been in Binghamton since Friday visiting relatives and are supposed to head back to Indiana today in time for Thanksgiving, but I’m wondering if we’re going to have to change our holiday plans on the fly.

Did you get that storm then? Same here for change...Wed it was 70 degrees and gorgeous. Thursday we got the storm, blowing snow, ice, whiteouts in some places, 10 inches in some places. But we only got about 6 inches here.
And it stopped. Well, enjoy the snow. Feed your chickadees. It is very rural where we are so we feed a lot of wildlife in the winter.
With love from northern Michigan.

Haha I first heard that phrase while living there (lived in Solvay for about 6 years). I've heard it several times since then, but definitely experienced the most dramatic weather changes while living there.

I feel for you. We didn’t get much and nothing stuck to the roads. Further south they got over a foot. We deserve a break.
Remember 2 years ago our area buried with 7 foot? Not fun.

I’ve been up that way a few times during summer. Beautiful area. Never been there during the winter, though. I’ve heard many things about how crazy the lake effect snow can be.

Aw gee, only 3 feet? The Alzheimers poster child NYC school chancellor Farina would keep the schools open and declare, "It's a beautiful day!" like she did when NYC had a couple feet of snow 2 years ago. I got frostbite on my cheeks waiting out in the blizzard for a total of 3 hours for 3 different buses. Some beautiful day.
I feel for you and sincerely hope that you have plenty of food and supplies socked away. Good day to catch up on sleep or, if so inclined, build a snowman.

So much for the yard work!
And, here we are (in SE TX) moaning over warm temps (72º)....from our recent cooler temps.
Stay safe and warm!!
