FULL TITLE: 'Integrity is our only true currency': Designer who dressed Michelle Obama vows NEVER to work with incoming First Lady Melania Trump and urges others to follow her lead
Sophie Theallet has vowed not to dress Melania Trump when she becomes First Lady and urged other designers to follow her example.
Speaking on behalf of her brand, the designer tweeted a damning open letter in which she said they 'will not participate in dressing or associating in any way with the next First Lady'.
Citing the 'rhetoric of racism, sexism and xenophobia' of the president-elect's campaign, she ruled out ever working with Melania - despite not having been asked.

Thank Goodness...I wondered who the idiot was who put Michelle in all those HORRID clothes.
Mrs. Trump will do JUST fine without this silly biotch.
It is frightening how STUPID these people are! Tolerance...My white skinny butt.
Perhaps the designer is trying to save face?
Michelle consistently looked like she desperately needed a makeover from the What Not to Wear team. She was certainly not a good advertisement for that designer. Despite the entertainment media’s gushing over Michelle’s exquisite taste, Michelle did not set any fashion trends. I don’t think boob belts ever took off, even in NYC, where fashions tend to the impractical and bizarre.
Actually, I think that dress could be cute on a petite twig!
Apparently, a lot of young Hollywood actresses like this designer.
No more black widow spider dresses?
No more dressing like a hooker for formal functions?
No more inappropriate attire like a ghetto queen?
Not having Moochelle’s designer is a win, not a loss, to Melania.
She’s done that a few times. Standard off-the-rack dresses from Ross and she does look stunning.
This is SO laughable. Some no-name dress designer publically announcing that she won’t design dresses for the incoming First Lady. What an ego and gasbag for her to think that anybody knows her or cares about her opinion.
It is so weird that all entertainers, writers, dress designers have such solid group-think along Marxist lines. It must be guilt at their success. Or too much coke.
Ha, ha, bark like a dog!
Wait a minute. I thought the left believed if you were in business you could never say no to a customer.
Perhaps this designer should be sued and put out of business for discrimination (against beautiful people).
Does Melania look like she need anyone’s help to look gorgeous.
Look, we really must give that lady credit for dressing Michelle. Its not everyone who could take a harry mammoth and present her as a racehorse! That lady deserves every penny they paid her. Just wait until Michelle is back on the block and off the Taxpayers wardrobe! She will will look like a super-sized Hilary in a couple of years!
“Thousands of people in line for that job.”
You and I think alike. I find it comical for this idiot to say he won’t allow his fashions(?) to be used by Melanie Trump, a professional model, with attractive and already well dressed daughters, who has had extensive training and experience in walking and standing to best show the attire she displays, in front of so many that don’t do anything but rate those fashions. I can promise you the biggest names in fashion design were knocking on her door months ago for the opportunity to dress them.
But here’s another thought. Maybe after the burlap sacks he made for Michele, he was asked to clear his forms out of the white house, i.e. fired. And this is his way of saving face. Too bad he couldn’t let his work talk for him.

To put Melania in one of her tents would be in and of itself a criminal act.
She doesn’t need to worry - no one will ask her to.
Thank God!!
She should also refuse to decorate the First family’s White house private quarters. That will leave them bereft.
