Just took off? That picture shows some snow on the ground so I’m thinking the plane wasn’t de-iced since it could have been frosty and the wings may have had frost on them that wasn’t removed?

It's possible. We got cold and icy very quickly here in N. NV. One day 70 degrees, the next, down into the 20's.

I can't imagine they weren't prepared though. Prayers for the families.
