The guy was guilty and the “justice” system failed. No one went and randomly killed someone.

I would have given the guy time served- even if he had never spent a day in jail.
I understand the guy has to be convicted, but this is just a tiny degree removed from self-defense.

I would have gladly engaged in nullification if I was on the Jury for this guys trial! Which is what needs to happen in these cases.. .he’s no threat to anyone else, his reaction was not beyond the expectation of any rational father.
No way I’d put him away for doing what a father should do.
To: BenLurkin
from the article:
Investigators said the father also shot at a man who had been dating his stepdaughter, but the man was able to hide inside a convenience store. His daughter said the man at the convenience store was abusive to the stepdaughter.
Looks like he was gunna murder someone that day.

You cannot pay that debt. Then why was he released? This is where you fail to understand me. If he has not paid his debt / still poses a threat, he does not belong among us.

Just reduce it to time served, with a stern warning to not do it again! :-)

“Brooks pleaded guilty in 2002 to sexually abusing Maynor’s young daughter. He served 27 months of a five-year sentence and paid restitution.”
The judge who sentenced him is the real cause of this situation. Setting perverts like that free leaves citizens with little option but to take it upon themselves to defend their children.

“And every killer needs to go to prison.”
Those who kill in self defense? Or during a war? Or by accident? Or as a peace officer in the line of duty?

Well, he’s no longer among us, thanks to the dad, and no thanks to our failure of a justice system.

” Its the judge who passed the sentence on the dad who should be in jail.”
No, he should be swinging from a tree.

“Beware the fury of a patient man.” Yup. Should have been more careful about how he executed his vengeance. If he'd planned better, it wouldn't be an issue.

The Dad messed up and either talked or got caught. He should have had a better plan IMHO.The triple S solution.

Trump cant pardon for a state conviction, but the governor could. The President of the United States has ultimate pardon powers. . . he can pardon anyone.

A president can only pardon for federal crimes. Where would anyone get the idea that it was otherwise?

This is what is called iniquity.

I’m channeling Obama. . . He’s got a phone and a pen and he doesn’t need the Constitution and States’ Rights are meaningless, right? The President as dictator can do what he wants, remember. Obama has set the precedent. It’s la logical extension of the last eight years.
