Ivanka Trump Wore a $10K Bracelet From Her Own Label on 60 Minutes — and Social Media Is Erupting

Ivanka Trump recently appeared alongside her father, President-elect Donald J. Trump, and surrounding family members in their first postelection interview, in New York City. The 35-year-old businesswoman wore a nude short-sleeved dress and opted for gold accessories, including a $10,800, 18K yellow gold diamond bangle from her eponymous jewelry line.

Soon after the interview it was revealed that one of the fashion maven’s employees sent an email to journalists offering style details on the expensive bangle.

Seeing as Trump’s eldest daughter is heavily scrutinized by the press and media alike, for the conflict of interest that lies in promoting her own business at high profile political appearances, it didn’t take long for social media users to take issue with Ivanka hawking her own expensive bangle on the segment. Many users felt that Ivanka was using this important interview as a marketing opportunity.

Ivanka Trump brand president President Abigail Klem said in a statement that a well-intentioned employee was to blame for the release who is still making adjustments post-election. “We are proactively discussing new policies and procedures with all of our partners going forward,” said Klem.

This isn’t the first time Ivanka has worn – and promoted – her own design.

In fact, throughout her father’s campaign, Ivanka was spotted in many pieces from her own label. She notably wore a $138 sheath dress from her clothing line to introduce Trump before he accepted the Republican Party’s nomination for the presidency at the Republican National Convention, back in July. She’s worn a number of other dress and shoe styles from her collections to appearances during the political campaign. Self-branding will always be controversial for high profile figures, especially for those with political ties, but it doesn’t seem like Ivanka plans to change.

"First off the bat, we gotta stop apologizing for everything."

I agree totally: don't apologize if you haven't done something wrong.

So she wears her own brand - what is she supposed to do - pay thousands of dollars to some big name designer - then they would be griping about that.

Or maybe they think she should go pick out a little something from Walmart - so they could write hateful stuff about Walmart.

With all the problems in the world, there are lots more important things to talk about. Have you ever heard or read a news story about which tailor a male politician got his suit from? The media is a bunch of hypocrites in search of scandal where there is none to detract from the evidence of wrongdoing by their chosen ones.

You think Ivanka trump needs to appear at presidential interviews advertising what she wears to make money?

Why not just flash the price and a number to call to order online
HSN comes to the WH

Nope tacky
But I think Ivanka has more class than that and did not plan it

From the article: "Self-branding will always be controversial for high profile figures"

Is it really? Since when?

Yahoo is SWJ central along with their dead people stories.
Yahoo could make a lot of money selling teddy bears to liberals.

"Her employee screwed up by putting out a sales pitch for Ivanka’s jewelry after the event - apparently on her own."

That's a separate issue from Ivanka wearing the jewelry, which was the main focus of the article. On the narrower issue, not plugging the jewelery after the interview, I sort of agree that that shouldn't be done. But, when Michelle Obama wears designer clothes, the media always point out who made them, so I guess the media think that they're the ones who should do the plugging.

Obviously the company needs to make new guidelines

Ivanka Trump brand president President Abigail Klem said in a statement that a well-intentioned employee was to blame for the release who is still making adjustments post-election. “We are proactively discussing new policies and procedures with all of our partners going forward,” said Klem.

It’s the height of arrogace for anyone from any news team to talk about conflict of interest after they covered for Hillary in her Sec of State pay to play scheme.

Is there such a thing as an “11” on the rating scale?

It’s called business sense to wear your own designs in public, where there maybe free publicity, like the left provides. Ten Thousand for a bracelet is way out of my league, I wouldn’t spend ten dollars on a bracelet probably even if I had the money to do so. As I wouldn’t spend twelve thousand on a mao style jacket like Hillary, even if I could afford to do so.

This is too little too late. President elect Trump announced his candidacy in June 2015 from Trump Tower and no one criticized his use of that arguably self promoting backdrop. Reality is a b!+€h, so is gravity.

They are also ignoring Michelle Obama and her children getting free clothes by various designers, and the press fawning over what they wore, resulting in massive sales.
In many other cases, they just fawned over the expensive outfits Michelle Obama put her girls in, especially in 2008-2009 where a “budget versions” of the ensemble were several hundred dollars per child.
