Say what you will about SNL - this just proves they still can create really funny political humor when they want to.

Truly hilarious! Schadenfreude never gets old.

They've always had a liberal bent, but once in a while they go for humor over ideology and skewer liberals. Their 2008 spoof of TARP and Dodd-Frank was hilarious, because it ridiculed everyone who deserved to be ridiculed: Soros, Bush, Barney Frank, etc.

Unfortunately, the other 95% of the time SNL either peddles PC propaganda or adolescent attempts at humor and is hardly worth watching. Who knows, if SNL's writers, producers, and actors can step out of their PC comfort zone once in a while, maybe there's hope for some of the idiots out there protesting Trump's victory too.

SNL Mercilessly Mocks White Hillary Voters Watching the 2016 Election Unfold

SNL has turned into more of a burden than entertainment. Their snide, snarky, witless BS might be amusing to the brainless, room temp IQers, but anybody with at least a half a brain in their heads just skips it.

I can’t believe no one here can see the underlying message in this skit. It’s not mocking liberals, it’s calling out America. The Lib’s are portrayed as naive yes, but they really have hearts of gold and are heartbroken that their fellow Americans could vote in that monster Trump. The snowflakes only want the best for people of color.

The streetwise black guys know better. They’re not surprised as the election results roll in because they too can hear the dog whistles and they know the pit bulls of racism and sexism will win the day. The skit was a stinging critique of this nation, probably written by Michael Che.

SNL? Is that show STILL on TV? I remember hearing about SNL when it was first getting noticed and when I finally sat down with some friends to watch it, I wasn’t laughing along with the rest of them. They acted like it was funny because it was supposed to be funny and that if you were at all cool, you would have decided that it was indeed funny, which it really wasn’t.

Even if you've already seen "Cat watching horror movie", and it's great with that title, I recommend watching it again as "Liberal watching 2016 Election Night".

Although I was surprised to see them mock what amounts to their audience, I didn’t think it was all that funny. Really what it was about was a couple of black guys appearing to be smarter that the whites. No mention of blacks voting in a huge bloc every time, even if slightly less so this election. Just not all that funny to me.

Of course, I was put into a bad mood by the ridiculous bouquet to Illary disguised as a tribute to Leonard Cohen at the beginning of the show. Barfworthy.

thank you so much. I laughed so hard, and showed it others who then laughed so hard. Funny thing is that one woman here said that is exactly how her group of friends acted during that night, except it was even more of a meltdown.

I don’t watch SNL any more, haven’t for about 20 years, because it just isn’t funny. The music sucks, too. But this skit was funny - thanks for the post, you made my day.

...liberals in a state of shock and wondering how Republican Donald Trump could possibly win given he was predicted to lose in all the major polls.

That's what happens when a generation that gets its news from SNL and The Daily Show takes the MSM polls at face value.

The polling companies did themselves a yuge disservice by gaslighting the polls this time around.

Speaking of schadenfreude, this is a link to a 26-min. compile of election night moments on “The Young Turks,” which is like a video version of DU.
They began the night elated, ended it gnashing teeth and rending garments.
Caution: language most foul.

I think some people are misinterpreting the skit.

Basically, the message was, the cynical, knowing black guys have been around the block (i.e., around the country) more than the naive, clueless white liberals and know that the country is largely racist, contrary to the idealistic white liberals. The black guys laugh at the white women because the women say they can’t get ahead in Trump’s America, where the ‘truth’ of the skit is that black guys are the ones really oppressed.

Then, with typical liberal cognitive dissonance, Chris Rock suggests the liberals would have won if they had nominated someone like Obama (40 year old charismatic black guy) instead of an old white lady, which of course is inconsistent with the cynical black guys mocking and laughing about the white liberals’ naivete that the country is not racist.

The skit was mocking clueless white liberals for being naive about America while calling America racist.
