-Legion Riders Rescue Bruce-

Yesterday members of Post 54 Legion Riders, Dan Barkalow (pictured) and Bob Grigs with their friend Ryan Bailey represented Post 54 at the Veteran's Day ceremony conducted at the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial in Holmdel. At the conclusion of the ceremony they decided to take advantage of the beautiful day by taking a ride to Manasquan before returning to Freehold.

On the way home, taking the back roads to Freehold, lead rider, Dan, noticed a broken down bike on the side of Allaire Road, near Allaire State Park. The Legion Riders pulled over to assist their fellow motorcyclist, who just happened to be Freehold native Bruce Springsteen.

Unable to get his bike started, Bruce called for help, hopped on the back of Ryan's bike and they drove to Mulligans in Farmingdale. One beer later his ride arrived and as he left Bruce laid a hundred dollar bill on the table and told them to keep the change.

Trump voters saving Springsteen’s butt. Bruce’s shilling for an old white socialist woman instead of Jersey’s most successful builder (who probably employs a ton of his fans) is a ridiculously bad fail.

It would have been perfect if it was a Trump motorcade that had come along.

Typical socialist. Always expecting someone to bail him out. I would’ve left him stranded.

I have no problem with this....

Look, folks, Bruce is and was wrong with his politics. NO two ways about it.

How do we show they’re wrong, besides the obvious academic study of what the Constitution means and the effects of policy?

We show it by being decent human beings—scratch that, by being CHRIST LIKE to others. And whether these bikers were conscious of their actions being in the likeness of the Creator, the fact is: the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve...

If we as conservatives (and, more important—Christians) are going to have a lasting effect on others, it will be in how we treat our fellow man.

Pointing out their WRONGNESS is essential. Equally essential is reaching out to them when they’re in need and showing them kindness. Just like the second amendment helps put TEETH in the first amendment, so our good deeds point to something beyond ourselves—to a God that created the absolutes.

If I saw Michael Moore, or Hillary Clinton, or George Soros on the side of the road, you’re darn right I would pull over and give them a lift. For all the vitriol we have against them for their wicked policy positions—and they ARE wicked—these are still people created in God’s image. No one is beyond salvation. And we ought to extend the hand of help when they’re in distress.

No, that doesn’t mean we applaud their badness. We don’t promote it and we don’t want it in our public policy. If we care about PEOPLE (and we do) then we should care about THESE people.

Think about how much of our Scripture was written by people who murdered or aided and abetted murder: Moses, David, Saul of Tarsus...and yet each were used by God to minister and deliver His message.

No one is beyond His reach. No one.

“The biker code requires us to help every rider...even the POS traitorous liberal ones

Sometimes you make a convert that way too. I’m old enough to remember when a black leather jacket could get you denied service at a restaurant. (See Peter Egan’s column “Basic Black”) A lot of us made a concerned effort to change that. I once put the temporary spare on for a car load of old ladies and then escorted them to the local tire shop that a friend runs and to make sure they got the regular tire fixed. I don’t have to tell you that the general public’s attitude toward bikers has changed over the years. And yes we do help each other. I was hauling some stuff on my trailer awhile back and someone asked me what the contraption in the front of it was. I told him it was a tire trap for hauling motorcyles. I showed him how it was adjustable “In case I have to play Good Samaritan to someone on a Gold Wing or Harley Dresser that is longer than my bike” He looked at me and said “I didn’t think you guys got along”

First his presidential candidate breaks down then his bike. The difference is, the bike is probably worth fixing.
