Well I want to share this and see what ya'll think? Kyle Weissman who does our new history blogIs not only a historian but an avid war gamer. His favorite battles he recreates are from the middle ages and the Napoleonic wars.
I have decided to check out just how good he is and play with him on a few war gaming matches to see how good he really is. Maybe pick up some strategy of my own and record the whole thing on my Youtube channel!!
We'll be playing Empire total war set in the revolutionary war, an old game called Age of Rifles which will have some Civil War and WW1 scenarios and some other games set in World war 2. Don't know what though... All I know is their mostly random and fictitious including a few what if's like a confederate Siege on DC or Japanese invasion of Los Angeles maybe even a medieval American campaign in an alternate universe
In addition I want to say that things are quiet now on his blog but we are looking at getting some new stuff put on there. for starters, Our next series will be about Elliot Ness and THE UNTOUCHABLES. I can't wait. I was watching the old ones with Robert Stackman from unsolved mysteries as Ness and I suggested it to him. I think it would be good since Kyle does remind me a bit of Walter Winchell. They're both almost alike, they both are anti communist, anti socialist except Kyle isn't Jewish and frowns on yellow journalism tending to stick mostly to facts than gossip. Still... I'm excited.
So... What do we think of the whole idea? Anyone interested in watching a Machinima style war game? Well try and focus on American military history but... I'd really like to play some Rome Total war even the new one.
Steam and cream?

As a veteran who served 24 years from Vietnam to Desert Storm I want to say that America has already given me the biggest thanks possible when they elected a decent Commander in Chief on Tuesday. I am so happy that todays military will not have another military loathing Clinton in that position.
I have Age of Rifles. It is a awesome game.
S&T is still around. Decision games publishes it.
There are better companies out there, though.
I still have a large collection of paper games. But, right now, I am in an electronic version of Squad Leader game with a buddy.
Lots of fun!
You would like historical miniatures. Go to a convention:

I had microarmor for Tobruk and for Arab Israeli wars back in the day.
My space for miniatures is limited now but I am looking to get into some simpler games like Sails Of Glory and Wings of glory.
Most of my war games went away when I got married because my wife couldn’t handle the math and memorizing where her units were. With fewer units that have their stats painted on large bases I think she can handle it.
There are still LOTS of folks out in the country that still play.
Conventions and Mini-cons run most weekends somewhere.
If you are looking for some gaming, you can find it. Don’t even need to own the game.
Actually, I have a game of Panzer Leader scheduled for after church on Sunday. Haven’t played that one since maybe eighty five or eighty six. My wife can’t manage those though.
I have been building a collection of modern designer boardgames which my wife can enjoy. I stumbled on to videos from The Dice Tower while trying to find a less heat up copy of the old Avalon Hill game Merchant Of Venus. I have been able to build a small group of players for those games from within my church.
GREAT!
I recently found out that a friend of mine is a Squad Leader guy.
We’ve been playing each other on line and hope to get some face to face time soon.
