I've been on Lake Okeechobee which is only 8 feet deep at its greatest depth, and with small boats, you don't want to be caught out in the open water with a 20 mph wind. I can't imagine what it would be like with a 60 mph wind.

Lake Superior has a maximum depth of 1,300+ feet. That seems pretty deep for an inland body of water, doesn’t it?
