The counting isnt finalized yet, but so far Hillary Clinton has won more votes than Donald Trump in Tuesdays presidential election, and her margin is expected to rise as more votes from California gradually get tallied.
But due to the magic of the Electoral College, Donald Trump will be the next president of the United States.

Important to know why our citizenry is so ignorant and apparently easily manipulated.
All the LSM are parroting - started last night on CNN.
Uh huh.
Gee, if it’s that bad, you’d think it would have been changed sometime in the past 200+ years since it was established. Guess it’s not that bad after all.
America is a Representative Republic, not a Democracy, you brain dead shitheads.
Maybe if you guys and gals ever bothered to learn anything, you might actually know something, but you didn’t, so you don’t.
I swear to God, Democrats and college students, in particular, are the dumbest lifeforms in this world.
Which is exactly what the Electoral College was designed to do.
The Presidency isn't a popularity contest. A successful candidate must craft a platform and campaign that appeals to a coalition of states that constitute an Electoral College majority.
Without it, a candidate could concentrate their campaign and platform on the heavily-populated East and West Coasts, and overwhelm the votes of the rest in the middle of the country. That's exactly what Hillary tried to do, and it failed.
Perhaps you could learn from the experience, if you took your head out of your butt and studied history. People who don't remember history are doomed to repeat it.

It's kind of like saying a team that loses the World Series, but scored more runs overall should get the title. Teams play according to the rules that will achieve victory, and popular votes don't do it in US presidential elections.
And, to remind our diversity and minority minded liberal friends; the reason the electoral college exists is to provide balance to the smaller states that would be more susceptible to be ignored or bullied by the more populous states.
Thank God for the Electoral College. The Founding Fathers were genius in instituting the Electoral College.
Can you imagine if the left could take their ballot stuffing fraud factories nationwide? Disaster.
What about all the people in California, Illinois and New York That don’t bother to vote because any republican has no chance of winning in these states. Talk about disenfranchised voters!!! I suspect there are a lot more disenfranchised Republicans than Democrats.
If not for the Electoral College, Hillary would be president and no one who lives outside of NY, SoCal, IL, Pittsburgh or Philly would have had their vote count. Take a look at a map of Tuesday's results.
I fact, that is the EXACT reason the EC was created.
Donald Trump campaigned under the premise that the electoral vote tally is what determines the presidential victor, just as he should have. If the popular vote determined the winner, he would have campaigned in Texas to drive up his margin of victory there, and he would have campaigned in California to drive down the margin of his loss there. It is very possible that he would have thus garnered the popular vote, but lost the electoral vote.
CA can elect its own President then.
Heck, I live here. It’s already like we aren’t part of the United States of America anymore anyway.
I guess these people will be unzipping their archived stuff post-Bush v Gore election. One can argue whether having the Electoral College is good or bad but one cannot argue that the because Hillary won the popular vote she is the rightful POTUS. Both her and Trump campaign under the Electoral College rules of the game so they both ignored populous states that were locks, for example, NY, IL, TX and CA. There were no major ground games or GOTV efforts. If we had a pure first past the post system then there would no campaigning in states like NH and NV but the candidates would throw all their effort into the major metro areas out to the exburbs.
If we really want the peoples will, each member of the House of Representatives should cast their electoral vote, the way their Congressional District voted in the General Election. Thus we would have each Electoral vote (representing the approximately 700,000 people) cast on how the membership of that district voted.
This will avoid the current practice of statewide, winner take all. In large urban districts, vote fraud can be conducted easily. All we have to do is look at places where over 100% of the voter population voted in 2012.
If Electoral votes are cast by the outcome in each district, the will of the American People will be reflected in the office of President.
Senators are a different matter. Since we now vote on Senators, they no longer reflect the will of the state they represent, but are beholding to those who funded their election.
So, I believe the 17th Amendment should be repealed. Then the Senator from each state would vote either how their legislatures decided (special session between the November vote and January 20th, or how the popular vote statewide indicated.
With this, the will of the voters, at the time of the General Election, would prevail. Large organized groups in urban areas would no longer determine the composition of the Electoral Congress. And voter fraud would be isolated to these large urban areas where it is conducted with immunity.
Also we should declare a national Vote Day holiday. This can be combined with November 11th, Veterans Day, so people will be reminded of how important their vote is, and those who died for this right.
