You weren’t trying to get me to defend the post, you were merely (and understandably) insulting it.
The image originated with someone in CA, posting Trump posters in the style of the famous Shepard Fairey “OBEY” posters. That style was commandeered to create the “Obama:OBEY” posters of ambiguous political persuasion (supportive? sarcastic?). Of late, someone has been posting “Trump:DISOBEY” posters in CA of the same style.
There were posts on FR about the posters making a stir this week, so (silly me) I assumed a good number of FReepers would be aware of it, and maybe even _want_ the poster for their own use. Time being relevant with the election approaching (and underway with early voting), and not quickly finding a clean rendering of the poster for use, I grabbed a photo of the poster on a wall and cleaned it up (not well, but a decent start). Being of somewhat obtuse humor, and noting the tendency of these style posters being presented without context or comment, I did likewise with this thread. Sometimes the best “vanity” is to simply present an idea and let it stand or fall on its own without further discussion, defense, or comment.
So here’s the thread. As some noted, it’s surprising how many heads the meme flew over. This vanity wasn’t just another “hey, everybody, this is what I think which is no different than thousands of other posts made in the last ten minutes”, it was an attempt to bring someone’s interesting effort (that of the unknown artist posting them in Hollywierd) to a somewhat usable form on FR. I subsequently spent some time trying to create an SVN version, much smoother and scaleable, considering the lead post was kinda grainy (still looking for a color-supporting SVN converter). Yes, the post was rather bare - but that’s kinda the point, a visceral presentation eliciting reaction.
The reaction kinda surprised me. Yes, vanities have been annoyingly prevalent of late, but most of the annoyance was truly uninspired & insipid demands that everyone pay attention to someone saying what everyone has been saying. I’d hoped this one would stand out a bit different; I’m evaluating what I’m learning from the replies. At least some people DID get the point, and seemed to appreciate it ... I find it rather an example of the importance of individual liberty, and the failing/threat of majority rule: that a few found the post laudable made it worthwhile despite the berating supplied by most respondents (at least it _elicited_ a response from them!).
Should Herself win on Tuesday, I may be inclined to produce more of the kind (lame or effective as it may be), with “consent of the governed” being the explicit or implied theme. And I won’t give a **** what whiners think.

Just speaking for my little ol’ self, I thought the post was fine, the graphic conveyed how I feel, and you didn’t need to defend it.
I like the poster and thank you for putting up on FR. For people who think this is a waste of time, they sure are taking a lot of time making comments about it.
Apparently there were quite a few that had no clue. Thanks for the explanation. You will find that a brief explanation avoids confusion, and thus might be advantageous to include.
