In phone calls, meetings and cables, Americas European allies have expressed alarm to one another about Donald Trumps public statements denying Moscows role in cyberattacks designed to interfere with the U.S. election. They fear the Republican nominee for president has emboldened the Kremlin in its unprecedented cybercampaign to disrupt elections in multiple countries in hopes of weakening Western alliances, according to intelligence, law enforcement and other government officials in the United States and Europe.
While American intelligence officers have privately briefed Trump about Russias attempts to influence the U.S. election, he has publicly dismissed that information as unreliable, instead saying this hacking of incredible sophistication and technical complexity could have been done by some 400-pound guy sitting on their bed or even a child.

This might be the final piece of "oppo" that Rick Wilson/Liz Mair were trying to push just before the election.
This guy sounds paranoid!!
New Democrat talking points sent earlier this week
The Dims have got nothing if going to back to this nonsense 4 days before the election. Yawn.
Sounds like Bullshiit to me.
Newsweek has to construct a narrative because on the surface the premise makes no sense.
maybe because they dont want a NUCLEAR WAR which Hillary will start. the bear-baiting is getting tiresome. Hillary is worse than anyone in the Russian gov
MAYBE because Putin would rather deal with someone who is not insane and corrupt?
I’d vote for Putin over Clinton. Less corrupt.
Aw Jeez...
And the Communist Party of America endorsed Hillary Clinton.
sooooo, putin steps over Obamas red line, takes Clinton reset and does whatever he wants under the Obama/Clinton doctrine and we’re supposed to believe he doesn’t want a third term obama admin out? puuuuhlleeease
Leftists loved loved loved Soviet Russia.
Now Russia are the new convenient bad guys.
Remember when Romney was LAUGHED AT as having foreign policies from the 1980s when he ran against Obama?
Bill and Hillary Clinton are the only ones who have given speeches and sold influence to the Russians. Trump doesn’t even have any properties in Russia.
This was their big November Surprise, huh? Two words make this worthless: URANIUM ONE!
Maybe someone with more patience read the entire article carefully and found the “why”. There are many possibly why’s including
* help defeating ISIS
* a stronger world economy (even if worldwide stocks take a hit as American people get jobs with better than illegal-pay)
* a more stable Europe when leaders trust the US president. Doesn’t even matter if they like what he says, they know what to expect and don’t have to worry how much the Saudis will pay for the opposite.
Those things and many others seem like they’d be good for Russia. Makes sense for Putin to support Trump.
It’s the Obama-Hillary admin that’s hooked up with Putin. From Obama’s handing the Russians everything they wanted on all-important missile defense and nukes, including the Iran nuke deal to Obama’s slashing of the US military to the Uranium One deal, where the Russians wind up with somewhere around FIFTY PERCENT of our uranium production!
And with Hillary making ZERO pledges to restore or rebuild the military, why on Earth would anyone with a brain in their head seriously think that KGB Putin prefer Trump-Pence, when they have made numerous promises to do just that: rebuild the military! Putin, despite the BS back and forth with the Hillary-Obama camp has-to, by a long shot, prefer Hillary over Trump.
I remember liberals used to praise the Soviet Union, and it was they who treated the first trip of Mikhail Gorbachev to the US as the second coming of the Beatles. Rush had that great parody in which he panned the liberals excitement over that man as “Gorbasms”. Now they’re the Evil Empire to them. Sorry libs. This is desperation!
New Russia? Russia is out to restore the Soviet Union. You must have been asleep on past Russia threads where I provided a mountain of evidence to this fact.
