Heard it, too.
Searched for direct Mussolini quote, but can’t find any.
He says it by inference of fascism, but not exact words.

This is pretty funny to me. The first time I heard the word I thought of the definition of Fascism (”fascism” was coined by Mussolini):
The rope is made strong by the multiple strands holding together.

Obama used the slogan “Forward!” which is a traditional Marxist slogan.
These people are not really subtle. Their roots are showing.

Unity
The fasces of unity
National and social unity was symbolized by the fasces themselves, the bound sticks being stronger together than individually.[48] This drew on military themes from World War I, where Italians were called to pull together into a unity.[49] Mussolini openly proclaimed that Fascists were willing to kill or die when it was a question of the fatherland as the March on Rome was prepared.[50] Similarly, he declared that the State did not weaken the individual, any more than a soldier was weakened by the rest of the regiment.

Foriortes una (Stronger together)
Latin phrase.
It goes back 2,000 years ago.....more or less. Mussolini, I think, if you dig enough....he simply borrowed it from some Vatican guy.

The word "Fascist" comes from the Italian phrase,
"fascio di legna"
meaning "Bundle of Sticks".
And a bundle of sticks are "Stronger Together".
