President Barack Obama likes to say the White House is the peoples house. Now, the people are getting a look at the rooms where he lives.
Exclusive photos published Tuesday by Architectural Digest are giving the public its first glimpse of private areas on the second floor of the White House that Obama, his wife, Michelle, daughters Malia and Sasha and family dogs Bo and Sunny have called home for nearly eight years.
Los Angeles-based interior designer Michael Smith decorated the rooms, as well as the Oval Office. A mutual friend in Chicago introduced him to the Obamas after the 2008 election.

the modern stuff doesn’t fit at all
They’ll disappear alright, Right into Baracks wok.

I found myself not terribly impressed with some of the furniture and pictures.
There is some nice wood furniture. In general it shows me the level of experience with nice things that they have.
Kind of sad for potus and family.
The secret passageway for Reggie Love, too?
The Clintons gave Socks to a secretary proving once again they’re all about props. Poor Chelsea was another such prop.
LOL. I saw that too.
Actually, besides the art work, I don't think it looks all that bad. {ducking....}
Most of the ‘art’ is not even close to art. The picture with the rectangles in a geometric layout is so juvenile that my kid could have done it in grade school.
Look at the pictures... the Obama’s have created a beautiful home. It’s tasteful and elegant - something we can all be proud of...
Here is the opening of the article: Considering the epochal achievements of the Obama administrationthe Affordable Care Act, the legalization of same-sex marriage, the Recovery Act, the Paris Agreement on climate change, and so much moreit seems trivial to append a footnote that reads, The President and First Lady have a pretty chic dining room, too.
Some folks just shouldn’t have car keys.
Some of the art is stacked in a pile on the floor of one of the rooms’ pictures. Way to treat my tax dollars.
Melania should auction off all that Kwanza carp and the refrigerator art the girls did and apply the proceeds to the national debt. Then send the already paid staff out to the warehouses to bring in furnishings we’ve already paid for. There is no need to redo the place every 4 years especially with the country trillions in debt.
LOOL!
I went to the site with an open mind, but we “designer” should pay us to get rid of the results of the remodel.
The modern art doesn’t go well with the contemporary/antique furniture in the rooms.
The Zero’s think they are so stylish. They’re the Beverly Hillbillies.
Most of it looked like leftovers from a carpet contractor stitched together and glued to plywood.
Zero talent required.
.
As if anybody gives a shi...er....Obama speech.
