Sounds good, I’ll get it.
He was with “The Traveling Willburys” too with Tom Petty and Bob Dylan for a little bit.
Except Harrison stole the song “My sweet Lord” from the Chiffons. It’s a complete rip off of “He’s so fine”. Virtually note for note.
It happens. Wouldn’t say he stole it so much as the “sound” of it was in his head.
Probably didn’t even realize it at the time. I think hs got sued over it, though.
He got sued and lost big. Even Lennon acknowledged it was a conscious rip off.
“...conscious ...”
I can’t imagine anyone - except someone really unscrupulous, and Harrison did NOT strike me that way - intentionally doing that when it’s so easy to prove.
As a musician myself, I’ve written songs and later scrapped the music because it sounded too much like something else.
That's almost exactly what Lennon said except he acknowledged it was almost certainly conscious. He said he couldn't understand why Harrison did it given that it was so obvious and would be so easy to prove. He said all he would have had to do was make a few easy changes and he would have had no problems. Read Lennon's last interview in Playboy, that's where he talks about it.
It just seems so out of character for Harrison. And it wasn’t like he was hurting for money, either.
Strange stuff... you wonder what goes on in peoples’ minds sometime.
I agree. And if you read the interview that's clearly Lennon's reaction. He seems totally puzzled.
No, that would be “i’m too sexy for my shirt”
You might like the trumpet solo in this Gregory Porter song (starts at about 4:45). It reminds me somewhat of the trumpet in “Zanzibar.”

It’s really good.
“Wilburys”: Good stuff. Del Shannon was supposed to be in the band, but he killed himself.
Jeff Lynne is immensely talented. “ELO”: John Lennon said if The Beatles hadn’t broken up, that’s what they would have sounded like going forward.
I saw a Beatles tribute band called “Rain” a few years ago. Outside of “Paul” being right handed, it looked & sounded like 1964-1970.
About 25 years ago, a then-local used record store had a green Hofner Bass for sale for $125. I was going to buy it, but the neck was so banana-ed. I still should have bought it, just as a decoration.
A blender?
Good article by Roosh, that song is a real piece of **it.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, I agree. Screw thet song.
An average rap song is far worse than any so far mentioned.
Perfect! In a sad way.
I like it, thanks!
I want Trump to throw that obscenity into the East River and turn the UN into a grand hotel; or raise it, and build a new tower.
Go TRUMP!! Gitrdone!
RE Rain:
I remember them as well. GOod show.
You should have bought the Hofner; the neck can be straightened (there’s a truss rod inside the neck center that yu can adjust with an Allen wrench). Failing adjsutment, you can replace the neck.
They’re nice instruments.
